Daytona 116520 question

This makes no difference at all to me, but curious if my Daytona has ever been polished. I can’t tell, and don’t really know what to look for.

It’s a 2008 model. It was left to me by a very close family member who was killed by a drunk driver a few years ago. It’s a very sentimental piece that I wear only on special occasions.

Well, I am not part of the Never Polish Club but I did own two 116520’s and your’s looks to me like one with light wear.

I own a number of these.Always difficult to ascertain if a watch has been polished by pictures alone, however appears to be unpolished or has had a very light polish at some stage.
Maybe you have some service history which would point towards a possible polish at some stage.Whatever, the watch is in nice condition and I would refrain from any further polishing especially when servicing in the future.

A macro of the rounding of bezel numerals might be good. The other spots are the coronet on the crown and also the crispness of the teeth on the pushers and crown. The teeth on an unpolished Rolex are practically sharp to the touch.

Looks like it’s unpolished. Typically when you get a quality service/polish the watchmaker will engrave or mark the date of service and his/her initials on the inside of the case back.

Might be the only way to tell

Appears unpolished. That said, no side shots to see if the lower portion of the bezel that meets the case has lost its edge…

That said, a lite polish isn’t always a bad thing if done by a professional.

It looks unpolished. The bezel is very sharp and lugs looks like in original condition. Very nice condition!

If you service it one day please make sure to ask not to polish the watch - make it written by Rolex RSC to be sure.
