Milgauss prices

I just had a casual glance on Chrono24 to look at prices for the Milgauss (z-blue in particular). What on earth? Literally up 40-50% in the last six months. I know there’s been a MSRP increase and the trend is generally upwards for all steel watches, rumours of discontinuance etc, but is there anything specific that’s fuelled this rise? Have other watches in the line-up risen by a similar amount?

Disclosure - I have this watch and am not looking to sell, but just like to have an idea of value for (i) insurance purposes and (ii) to work out what is happening generally in the world with this wider asset bubble we are seemingly in.

Another C24 asking price analysis. Fake data. Yes they are up, but I turned down a full set Z Blue a few weeks ago for 10K USD. Mint 2017 watch. Their prices are laughable. My "collection" is marked up at least 25% from what i could actually buy them for on the open market.

Just typical Rolex inflation. They aren’t selling though. I follow this reference and they just sit on shelves and get marked up periodically. Just an unloved reference.

My AD recently got an exhibition version so that gives me hope it won’t be discontinued in a couple of months. I’m looking for one myself. They were about $6500 when I started browsing them 3 years ago. Would never pay inflated prices now.

I’m sure it is market manipulation by grey dealers holding back stock and even wash trading.

Not asking for price analysis as such, but I guess asking a rhetorical “WTF?” and offering for anyone to chime in with insight.

I would not say that those are completely fake prices. I follow DavidSW listings- the Milgauss watches that he has listed do shrink in inventory with high listed prices. The tide has lifted all prices in general. It's not as an "unloved reference" as some may think. I love mine and would not trade it for a Sub.

Silly Chrono24 charts, easy money, social media hype, and posts like this?

Like the Air King, they are just oversized, overpriced OP's.

The last two watches I was offered but passed on were the Z blue Milgauss and Air King (as if...).

At some point they will drift back down in the reverse order they became "desireable".

I happen to think they are the perfect size...although I sold this years ago.

Count me as a big fan especially VS the overpriced, over-hyped SS Daytona's, comic book or cans of soda models.

I love my green crystal, black face version. Luckily, I bought back when they were only at 5k. Today's prices on all the rolexes scare me, but I love this reference.

Call a trusted seller and get a bid to buy your Z-Blue, and I'm betting it's around $8k. End users aren't paying nearly as much for watches as you'd think by looking at asking prices on Chrono24.

Yes and no. I try not to have a lot of overlap in my collection and I bought a 39mm Explorer that I like better.

A recent buy off C24 I got 15% off listed price. C24 immediately valued it at 35% more when adding it to my "collection". I like C24 as a buying and selling platform, but the valuations are a joke. Seems people here take them as gospel.

Chrono24 have a Chronic issue of overpricing anything that has a Rolex logo on it..... real secondary market values are atleast 2k less on many models!

They recently were advertising a DJ36 Silver Dial for £11K ?!?!? No one is mad enough to buy that watch at that price surely!?

Bought mine “way” under RRP with stickers on, in 2019!

How can that be bad??

And “no” I will not sell!

Removed stickers and wear it.
