Are RO for ladies easier to get?
Hi,
I've been eyeing the 15550ST but I think the demand is too high for me as a first-time buyer. I'm a lady. My wrists are 16cm/6.3 inches. So I am wondering if getting the "ladies watches" like a RO in 34mm or even a 33mm will be easier? Is it a good idea to buy a smaller model that is "easier to get" or should I try to wait for the 37mm? Also, do you know which models are "easier to get" right now or does that not exist Thanks! |

As a first timer, your chances of landing a 15550 this year is nil since they come with the 50 year anniversary rotor and is super sought after.
I’m actually trying to get a 34mm RO for my wife and they said even that will be very tough this year, albeit I only have one AP watch. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Any 37mm is going to be extremely difficult, borderline impossible - at least from what I was told and what I've seen from others. This year in particular is another animal entirely.
But, with that said, I asked my SA (no purchase history) if I could get a 33 or 34mm for my wife and he said 33mm would be easier. Magically, he actually got us a 33mm very very quickly, like within a week or so! I think it was just kind of a coincidence he had just been allocated one right after we spoke. He also mentioned that may be the last 33mm he'll get and that model might be discontinued but you can ask around and try. I will say, AP have been tremendous to deal with, they were very friendly to me from the start, even though I know they're fielding non-stop calls with no stock to sell, which I can't even imagine how draining it must be. My SA was a real straight shooter too, which I appreciated a lot - no games, no promises, no bundling etc he just let me know the situation and said he'll see what he can do. Go for the 33 or 34mm if you can, both are absolutely stunning. The 37mm you're competing against men as well (my white one below is a 15450ST 37mm on 6.5" wrist) and the 34mm is a really flexible size. Gets you all the Royal Oak goodness, but with less competition. Good luck, hope you can get something. It's worth the wait for sure. |

definitely not easier to get as supernova mentions...but worth giving your SA 2-3 options and being happy if any of those come through. My boutique maybe saw 2 77350 silver dials in 2021
you'll be surprised the 34 is very versatile as it wears as big as a 37-38 in normal circular cases I'd consider that 34-37 size range pretty unisex in AP...heck women are even wearing 38, 39, 40, 41 all depends on what looks good on your wrist, what you feel comfy wearing |

15550 is going to be very difficult this year. I expect that the 33mm and 34mm will also be updated/replaced (see the update to the 77350CE). The 34mm is a nice size, and we're trying to get a 77350CE to accompany my wife's 15450 (which may or may not happen).
You could ask about one of the diamond bezel models, which probably have slightly less demand, but also lower production. |

I have a 34mm, 37mm and 39mm and as a lady I think all of them can work depending on the outfit and how you stack them with other jewelry. Agree that this being the 50th year of the RO it has reached the upper stratosphere of popularity. So the chances are small. But I know AP will treat you great and with patience you'll be rewarded. Also, consider a vintage 4100 or 14790 in the meantime. Excellent midsized references from the 1990s with wonderful proportions.

I think if you go to AP House and talk to them about what you want, you might be able to get a 15550. AP seem to really want to build relationships with people who have historically been less interested in the brand (women), so you might be a higher priority than all the men who might be interested.
34mm will be easier, but go for what you want, you might be pleasantly surprised |

Your have good wrist size, 33/34mm might be small for u. Best to try before getting them. AP treats ladies well… my wife’s been allocated a 77350ce 2 weeks ago (non 50yrs ani) while i have zero oak for the last 14mths. Definitely easier for 33/34mm
