Hi all,

Wondering if anyone can provide some assistance on how to source an appropriate end link and make this happen?

Any help much appreciated

Thanks

Reach out to a follow TRF member - George from Smarty End links - he makes end links that other members on TRF use (including myself). (email: [email protected])

Website: https://www.smartyendlinks.com/

I'm not sure if he has made the end links for the 36mm Explorer as of yet but you could ask him

But won't there be a problem with fit, regardless of end link? Don't think there are any 19mm OF bands (let alone a 19-14 one).

He does them for the Exp 39mm 214270 so hopefully he will be planning to offer them for the new 36mm.

What OF model comes in 19mm? YM37 is 17, the 40/42, Daytona and SkyD are 20+ and I can’t think of any others. In fact, other than the old OP34 I can’t think of any other 19mm watches at all.

Have you tried Oyster flex out? I did recently and wasn’t that impressed. It was a gold piece so different animal but still the strap didn’t really function how I thought it would and didn’t feel great. It looks great, I just wasn’t getting it beyond that.

The more I think about this, the more I think: I'd rather have an aftermarket strap, with no end links, than aftermarket end links and a genuine strap. Ergo, some of the custom band manufacturers probably have some good options, that will allow you to get a rubber strap that perfectly fits both the watch head and clasp.

Drrd, yet to try one but after your comment i will try one on before commiting, thanks.

Dannyp, thing is the only reason i would consider doing this is because the end link makes the case look a little larger and i think gives the rubber band a better overall look against the case. Something about how round the dial looks against the rubber without the end link that i dont like.

Assuming you’re looking at black band? Probably looks weird that it’s basically all black the whole span of your wrist except for the bezel.

Just bumping this up again to see if anyone has successfully achieved this?

Cant seem to find any end links that will work with the 19mm/36mm case. Also seems the lug holes have been bought in quite close to the case on this watch which may complicate things further.

I felt just the same at first try but after a little brake in period it's like a dream.

Picture is a boost for OP :)

I wear my 116610 sub on oysterflex, I now like it better without the end links bc it freely moves on the case. Having the smarty endlinks on there, it looks good but restricts the oysterflex movements a bit that I didn’t like. Also the endlink will leave marks on the back of your case.

Nice. How did you source your oyster flex and did it take any other steps to fit to your sub-c? TIA

I sourced the oysterflex flex from the for sale section here on the forums, and my AD was able to source be a 214 Explorer clasp. The submariner clasp is too big in my opinion. If they can make a glide lock for the YatchMaster, it can be done for all.

Here is also a picture with the endlinks,

Shaving half millimeter off each side of the oysterflex 20 rubber shouldn’t be difficult if you take your time and have a steady hand. I believe the inner steel tubes don’t go all the way to the end. I’ve done it with leather straps many times, panerai 26 down to 24 for instance.

Where there is a will, there is a way…
21mm end links from eBay, factory 21mm OF form person who purchased the wrong size for their watch.
