FS Limited Edition Rolex SAS Explorer II
Offered for sale is one of the rarest modern Rolex sports watches. This is the Rolex Explorer II made for the 22 Special Air Service Regiment. The watch is the old model 42mm Explorer II with the polar dial with engravings on the side of the case and case back. This was offered for sale only to serving members of this elite unit and each watch has the first two letters of their last name and their service number engraved on the case back along with the regimental crest and the motto “who dares wins” on the side of the case. The watch comes complete with inner and outer box along with the guarantee card from Rolex London and all tabs, links and papers. The watch is in good condition.
The 22 SAS Rgt is the grandfather of all modern special forces units and their unit structure has been copied by the US Army Delta force, NAVY SEALs and the Israeli Sayeret Matkal. In 2012 Rolex offered to make a special edition sports watch a available for sale and it is estimated that between 100-500 watches were ordered making this one of the rarest modern Rolexes ever made.
