Why did you choose the Oyster Perpetual instead of a Datejust?

Hi, why did you choose an Oyster Perpetual instead of a Datejust of the same size? ..Price? Assortment of dials? The brushed case and bracelet?

I prefer no date on my watch. I know what date it is without looking at my watch.

Actually traded my DJ for an OP recently :
- Fully brushed links
- Brushed lugs
- Funky dial

I don't know but the brushed lugs give it a vintage vibe in my opinion

I like them both.

Love the colorful dials on the OP41s and tough brushed finish bits, and when feeling flashy, I enjoy the PCL and other polished bits on the DJ41s which have more options with dials, bezels and bands.

The date I can honestly take or leave.... not an issue either way. Both OP41 and DJ41 are clear and easy winners!

PCL at first. The more I look at my op the more I appreciate the symmetry.

+1. Since I retired 7 years ago, I don't even know the day sometimes much less the date.

Price and appreciation. Things may have changed but in the past I've taken a hit on every DJ I've owned.

Cyclops windows are aesthetically unpleasing.

I don't like the PCL too. Rolex already makes (almost) the full variety of polished and brushed cases and bracelets.. they should make the step towards the "bespoke watch", so the customer could also choose the preferred case and bracelet finishing

Why did you choose the Oyster Perpetual instead of a Datejust?

Cheaper, don’t like date complications in general/cyclops, thinner case, don’t have to worry about setting the date or messing with the movement during the wrong hours of the day, more brushed case and bracelet, lighter, (purity)

It’s easy to argue the OP is the best Rolex that Rolex has ever made. Good arguments can be made for several of their novelties.

The color of the coral OP was it for me. Although I bought a second DJ a few months later!

Clean design and no cyclops and was also the cheapest with brushed bracelet. Kind of no brainer.

No date, dial colour and fully brushed bracelet. The white DJ was just a bit too white for me and wanted a brushed bracelet as I already had PCL's on my BLNR
