swatch automatics are cheap, fun and somewhat skeletal. i picked this up in calgary on 17th ave at one of the little trendy watch shops. 21 jeweled eta 2842 movement with plastic escapement (shades of the tissot astrolon). $40 canadian.Name: IMG_1668.jpg

Check out Oris Artelier Skeleton. Got mine for a little over $1000.

Sure!

It's really a beautiful watch. I wouldn't be ashamed to put it next to some watches costing 10 times as much.

Nearly bought this until the salesman mentioned that for 30m water resistance, it is not recommended to take it for bathing and swimming. Was totally disappointed, with that kind of price paid, this watch is cant go for swim or bath.

That was the moment I made up my mind to get a Rolex

Even if it had a 1000 meter depth rating I still wouldn't want to get it wet since it has a leather band and all.

Still, there are lots of watches costing much more that are even less water resistant than this one. Water-proofing isn't mandatory at all for dress watches, in fact.

Most dress watches are not more then 30M water resistance you can spend 50K on a Patek and it is only rated for 30M.

Thanks for the feedback guys,

I am going to look at the Oris Artelier Skeleton. Lorsban would you be able to post a few photo's of your watch?

I think I am going to hold off on the swatch (not realy my style). But they do make nice watches, I have owned a few years ago.

I went to the Oris dealer at lunch and the list is $2200 (CAD) on them, They did not have any on stock. They told me they can do about 20% off list.

Cheap skeleton watches

Try the d. freemont watches website. There's a selection there for "Inexpensive Skeleton Watches". They're not genuine Swiss for sure, but they sure got the cheap part down. I own a d. freemont watch (not one of these type) and I am very pleased with it. I would definitely buy again from them. In fact, I considered one of these but decided I already had enough watches. :-)
