Submariner vs Moonwatch Speedmaster , If only have one in your collection ?

Both are 2 of the MOST ICONIC WATCHES EVER MADE

The Moonwatch is back to the hype now due to the Swatch Colab

If you only have one in your collection, will you choose the Speedmaster Pro or the Sub for your life ? And Why ?

Sub. For an only watch, I need/want water resistance and an automatic.

Plus, I use my countdown bezel more often than I engage the chrono.

Speedmaster used to be so reasonably priced that it made sense to just own both. If your going for only one you get the Sub hands down. The quality is just there. But if you have the means, a Sub and Speedy are a great two piece

Agree with those saying Sub; however, obtaining one is the issue.

Sub. It's a tank, less is more (no date for either), and works for virtually every occasion. Be sure to get black straps (at a minimum) too. I also like auto wind and higher WP rating of the Sub. Also have both, Sub is worn more because I can beat the living ___ out of it without worry. From luxury dinners out to the beach and off-road bicycling, Sub handles it all.

The Submariner... A true legendary icon that has never been compromised by shameless cash grab spin-offs.

If you have an extra 300 bucks laying around you can get an Omega MoonSwatch.

16610 over similar age speedy. Modern, I really don’t like the ceramic bezels and big case on my wrist but like how the speedy fits and has an acrylic crystal. None of these are getting beat up by me, but the speedy is nice because it’s replaceable with a new one. Also Rolex has some baggage that the speedy doesn’t.

Also as far two most iconic, you spelled cartier tank wrong

Modern sub plus moonswatch. No need to compromise now that you have a 260 option.

A Submariner has also been in space, I saw a picture once (or was it a seadweller? But a Speedmaster hasn't been to the bottom of the ocean!

Sub because it's more water resistant, looks better to me and I don't need a chronograph function, which by the way detracts from legibility at a glance. I used to have a Speedy but sold it. A Sub is a watch for life.

Sub because I am a Sub fan. Not a big fan from the Omega brand (owned some pieces in my life but did not work for me)

I want both a sub no date and either omega 321 or 3861. My collection already consist of 7 watches and I need to slow down and spread out the allocations. So the goal for my 40's is to acquire both of these pieces and then venture into PM rolex in my 50's.

As a previous poster suggested Sub and buy a MoonSwatch Moon Mission at retail when the hype dies down.

Sub all day everyday….moonwatch is fragile in comparison - hesalite scratches, less water resistant, pushers are exposed.

If you want it immediately, the Sub costs more than double the price of the Speedmaster and two very different watches. Yes, the answer is always both. I wear my Speedmaster(s) more than my Submariner.
