why is the Rosegold Daytona Choco dial popular than Ivory or Black?

Hi :)

I wanna step up to buying Daytona Rosegold model.
(I might wait for few month if things go well...)

Anyway While searching the model to ask my boutique manager,
my conclusion ended up as full Rosegold model might have a chance.

I was surprised to read that in my country's Rolex forum most of people
seem to prefer Rosegold + Choco dial.

Why is this? Does this apply as a general rule? Is really choco dial more
preferred than Ivory or Black?

I am really curious because I thought Ivory dial was more beautiful!

Thanks

You’re in luck because from my recollection chocolate > Black > Ivory in terms of secondary demand.

The chocolate has a nice sunburst to it which many people like. But I generally agree it’s funny as 5 years ago a black dial 116515 would commmand a small premium to choco Arabic.

It is all about preference. To me the chocolate dial matches perfectly with the rose gold. Would I take an ivory if it came my way, yes it is also beautiful. Would I take black dial, probably not as I do not love it.

If you think the Ivory dial is the most beautiful, then it is.

No accounting for what other people might like more and who knows if people are buying their actual first choice vs just what's available/offered.

Personally, I think the rose gold works best with the dark browns, be it the Daytona or CNHR and that opinion wouldn't change based open popularity.

The Patek 5711/1R is rose gold with a chocolate dial. That's a big driver of demand on the Rolex side.
