A crazy idea?.. would SS Daytona bracelet fit on SS GMT MII?

So here's the situation.

I have a white Daytona 116520. I like it a lot. My mother loves it.

She really loves it and is in the market for a new rolex after years of wearing her 36mm DJ.

I know she'd want a Daytona like mine but would take too long to get one via AD or cost too much to get one grey. So she's looking at a simple Oyster Perpetual or maybe a datejust. Nice enough watches in their own right but I know she has loved the look of a white daytona for years.

It's her birthday in October.

As you may have guessed, I want to give her my Daytona and take something more modest for myself. I really like the new green / black left-handed GMT Master II and it's the first Rolex I think I wouldn't mind wearing instead of my Daytona.

The question is would it be possible to stick the new, shiny bracelet from the GMT onto the Daytona, sized to her wrist and keep the old scuffed up bracelet from the Daytona on the GMT, sized to my wrist? And then on the occasions that I may want to wear 'her' daytona again, I just swap my bracelet back onto it, easier than fussing about with removing links etc.

Possible or not? I believe the lug width is the same (20mm) but is it more complicated than that?

As a bonus question, if I'm in the UK, what's the best way to get hold of a new GMT by October?

Thanks!

Fram

Might help as it seems they will - nice gesture got to look after our parents.

In terms of your GMT question - I suggest you will either have to be very lucky ,or go grey

Good luck

Thank you very much for this - a clear yes!

Right, time to go get eyes on a GMT and see if I like it as much in the flesh as I do in pixels!
