1989 Rolex 16233 Datejust Silver Stick Dial Fluted Bezel Holes Case Box & Hang Tags

For sale is a very good condition 36mm 18 karat yellow gold and stainless steel Rolex Datejust. The 16233 is an L serial, circa 1989, and is accompanied by its original boxes and accessories. Included in the box and accessories set are: an outer and inner box, a serialized green Rolex hang tag which still has the watch’s original price tag attached, a Rolex hologram hang tag, and two instruction manuals.

The Rolex features a brushed steel case, which is accented by a fixed yellow gold fluted bezel. The Datejust is mounted on its original 62523H-18 steel and yellow gold Jubilee bracelet, which is secured by a deployant clasp. The bracelet is stamped with a “N12” clasp code, which correlates with a production date of December 1989. The Jubilee bracelet contains 22 full size links, and sits loose on a 7.6 inch wrist. The Rolex features a silver sunburst dial with applied polished gold stick hour markers, polished gold tritium coated hands, and a magnified date window aperture at 3 o’clock. The movement used in the 16233 is the Rolex Calibre 3135, which features approximately 48 hours of power reserve.

The case has stood the test of time extremely well, and contains thick lugs which are even and sharp. The fluted bezel appear to be untouched as the flutes are as crisp as can be. The Jubilee bracelet does contain some stretch from previous wear, which is consistent with the watch’s age, but remains in approximately 90% condition. The only noticeable signs of previous wear are some surface level hairline scratches on the clasp from desk driving, and some faint flea bites on the edge of the crystal by 12 o’clock. Overall the Rolex is in very good condition, and is a clean honest example of a late 1980s reference 16233 Datejust.
