Black Bay Pro or Black Bay GMT
Hi,
I thinking to buy gmt complication from Tudor and I need advice. I have my eyes on gmt Pepsi or black bay pro. I already have Rolex explorer II with black dial. I think the BB pro can overlap with my Rolex. What you think which one will be a better choice? And should I go with bracelet or strap? |

If you think it's going to overlap, then i think you know what you should do.

the date wheel issue with Tudor GMT Pepsi still exists. It is annoying to take a new watch to RSC for warranty service even though I live 5 mins away from one. Getting a Rolex Pepsi was the right choice.

I like the GMT better. The 41mm diameter suits the thickness better and spreads the weight around a larger surface area. I just think 41 is the perfect size for a sport watch. Get on bracelet for sure. Plenty of great after-market strap options for that watch.

BB GMT since I prefer the added benefits of a rotating bezel.

Not a fan of the thickness of Tudor complications but each to their own.
I went for the thinner Black Bay Ceramic and Black Bay 58 Blue but if course there is overlap there as well. Go with your gut.

BBP on the strap then trade your Exp II for the polar dial. Two unique looks.

I have full confidence Tudor has this worked out since they are using the same [updated] movement in 2 new references. dP

I went this direction. Great size and weight distribution at 39mm, weighs 101 grams on leather . As to thickness 14.6mm, more or less the same as Tudor Big Block 14.5 mm, Rolex Sub 16800 14.8 mm , Rolex Seadweller 16600 14.8 , Rolex 1655 13.5 mm and pretty much any sports Rolex on nato . A Vintage Rolex 5513 13.0 mm with a traditional nato band on it is thicker on the wrist at over 15mm. So not an issue on my 6.5 in wrist. Has the newer tweaked movement so hopefully date wheel issues are yesterday’s news. One of the most comfortable watches I’ve owned.

I would favour the thinnest one. And the one with the better micro adjust bracelet.

Is acquiring the BB Pro and selling the Rolex an option? If so, you avoid overlap and end up with the nicest of the three.

Which one: depends on your wrist size and proportion preferences.
Bracelet, strap, or NATO? Always bracelet. |

Black Bay Pro or Black Bay GMT
Too many variables really. But for me personally, if getting for a 1 watch collection. The Black Bay GMT has the classic look coupled with added functionality of a 48 click bezel which can be utilized as an impromptu timer and multi time zone tracking.
In your case, you already have a cave dweller style watch in the explorer 2. Which although doesn’t render the Pro entirely redundant but it is too similar. Both are stunning watches and both are dive capable. The pro has the superior bracelet (clasp) with T- Fit |

There is no overlap, Tudor is several rings down from Rolex.
If you are used to Rolex, or something nicer like AP, then Tudor is a waste and you will end up selling it before a year is up. |

I just acquired the BBPro and a BB41. The pro has a great T fit micro adjustment and fits me better than the bracelet on the BB41, but the weight distribution is move comfortable on the larger BB41. If you already have an explorer I say Pepsi!
