Dust Under Crystal After Service -

My YG 18238 was at Rolex service for 8 weeks and during that time they replaced the crystal and the dial, optional service I paid for as Rolex said the dial was spotted. I never noticed the spots prior to bringing the watch in for service, but I trusted they knew what they were talking about.

I picked up the watch about two weeks ago.

I know I have a two year warranty on their work so not so concerned.

When I put the watch on today and I was in the sun, I noticed three white dots either under the crystal or on the replacement dial. They appear to be dust, but who knows.

My question .... Does anyone know if I bring the watch in and they have to remove the crystal and the dust or what ever is on the dial, is that considered a "quick service" or will I have to leave the watch ?

Thank you

Just from my own recent experience, I had a brand new 126655 that had a white speck just above the 9 o’clock marker appear under the crystal. AD sent it off to Rolex, and it was back in two and half weeks.

I believe watches are fast tracked through a separate QC section when they’re returning due to bad workmanship. In my case I sent Daytona for service which took 7 weeks and when it was returned to me the crystal was inexplicably corner chipped between 12 and 1. I rejected the watch at collection. Within two weeks I got the call and it was ready.

Not uncommon to have speck of dust especially on the hands. Very annoying. Good luck in getting it sorted out. I have found RSC “can” move very fast but often will not. It’s also easy for your watch to get “set aside” and when you’re spending weeks hoping it’s almost done you get a call one day saying they’re about to start and wanted to ask you a question.

I believe your correct.

I sent a Skydweller because of apprarent marks on the dial and they had it back to me within 4 weeks with a new dial.

Also I sent my DD40 in back in 2017 as the initial versions with the 3255 movement had late date change issues. I got that back within 4 weeks as well.

Anything with QC issues, complaints or warranty work I believe it gets priority.
