Watch Gringa reviews the Tudor BB Pro

Watch geeks! Got a few minutes? (10min) Gringa reviews the BB Pro:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOAuUWAAddE

For proper context take a look at Bark & Jack's Exp 2 review first:
(It will make you want to own that watch! )
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZLi4slVWOM

Anyway.... Gringa has a way of poking fun at some of the things we take too seriously in the watch world.

After seeing her tongue-in-cheek 'review' that BB Pro actually looks pretty good, certainly better than may of the pics out there. IMO this Pro together with the Pelagos are the best watches produced by Tudor. On a rubber strap the Pro could be the perfect tool watch.

I have one and I’m very happy that I own this watch. I always prefer rubber strap that the bracelet and the clasp on this watch is very good as well. I agree that this Tudor with this strap is almost perfect combination.

Great looking watch!! The vintage look with the GMT function and the date . The color combination looks great also. Tudor produced a winner !

I've been looking more and more at this watch as I was in need for a black dial watch for legibility purposes.

I'm not a huge fan of the Explorer II, won't get a Sub Date for a while and the GMT is even longer wait and really wouldn't want to spend so much on something I'm not a huge fan of (Exp2), but this BBP is a nice sweet spot. Not sure if the thickness is an issue, I don't wear shirts or anything like that anymore.

May bite at the end of the year as stock seems fine in the UK

It is a very good looking watch. If this watch is interesting to you, don’t try on the Explorer II. You won’t be able to get around the thickness after that. Great watch though. I guess something needs to separate Tudor and Rolex GMT movement thickness.

The BB Pro is an excellent watch. Tudor absolutely nailed it. Wears a little bit thinner than specs indicate.

I tried this on at the AD this past week. I was blown away by it. Well done Tudor. The rubber strap was excellent.

Tried one on at my local AD and loved it. Definitely hope to get one in the future. Didn’t find the thickness to be as bad as it appears in photos and videos

Is Tudor being slowly molded into Rolex's very own homage brand..?

Dear lord is that Bark & Jack video cringeworthy. Did that guy travel all the way to Zermatt just to take an Explorer II into a walk-in ice cave? I bet he really did feel he was on an adventure, compared to his life in the city. I'm beginning to understand the people who lament that Rolex no longer make tool watches.

The Pro video on the other hand was well done, though she did freak me out for a second when she claimed her wrist was 6.5". It had me asking myself if my Pro looked that out of place on my 6.5" wrist as it looked on hers. Luckily she corrected her mistake in the comments (5.5" wrist) and I can continue blissfully living in denial that the watch isn't too thick.

I need to try one of these on. While it's the "sister" company, Tudor's vibe appeals to me.

Its no wonder the planet and our environment are screwed with emissions and climate change, when YouTubers are now jetting across Europe to make videos of a watch in a cave

I'm still not feeling it man. Just doesn't do it for me. Then again, I'm not a fan of the current Explorer II or the original Explorer II, so that explains a lot.

Exactly how I felt when she said her wrist was 6.5” and then I read the comments

Zermatt video was a bit cringy and unnecessary as he lives in Scotland and usually drives to wilderness for his shots, but hey if it is a paid vacation wouldn't you take that trip and create the content there instead? Now if he was ice climbing and/or summiting to Mont Blanc, that would be giving more justice to the watch's exploration roots but it is also understandable him not pushing that far as those require rigorous training and dangerous expeditions.

Overall, I prefer the photos and stories of this forum's very own Steve Bull over anything on Youtube for the Explorer II. Steve should be in the Rolex Magazine's next Explorer issue for sure when/if they ever republish.

Really? Make sure you "do your part" and stay home in that case. (The only thing worse is all the activists - they take a private yet!)

I saw a commercial being filmed in downtown LA once. My wife and I later saw the ad on TV, it contained about a 5-second clip of maybe 20 people dancing in a Conga Line.

To make that 5-second clip:
- Closed off several city blocks to traffic
- Several trucks worth of equipment (cameras, chairs etc)
- Several trucks of catered food
- Probably 100 people (camera crews, staff... mostly people standing around)

Might as well get rid of your TV, cancel all your streaming subscriptions as well.

At least Gringa stayed home for her 'spelunking'!

She does cute shows. I don't always agree with her and find her a bit on the fluffy side but in this case she's interested me in the Tudor version of the ExpII. It makes more sense to me than the original Rolex version.

Really, and you rock the blnr? I think it’s too thick but it works on most I’d say

Lets hope so. I think it allows Rolex to experiment a but without the burden of releasing it under the crown. Folks have issues with homages, but the reality is very few of us here actually rely on these watches to tell the time anymore and and when people buy a a modern Sub/GMT/Daytona now, they are really buying the history anyway. The subs and GMT's have not been used as tools since the 5/4 digit references anyway. I think that Tudor should embrace that.

I wish they would be even more 'homage'. Like this:
(no faux rivets, no faux patina...)

I was initially not a fan, I admit.
However, on this wrist the BBPro had me hooked.
It’s been difficult to wear other watches in my collection since buying the Pro, I’m not wanting to take it off.

I got to try a BB Pro on the other day at a local AD. Sadly it was already spoken for or else I'd have definitely grabbed it, as it wears superbly. The thickness "issue" is massively over-egged online in my opinion. More of a concern for me was the fauxtina, but in person it's quite subtle and suits the character of the watch very well IMO. I loved it.

Love it! Just wish I was man enough to wear it. A DJ41 is about my max.

I had a DJ 41, the BBPro I have on leather sits better on my wrist and much lighter. Very well balanced. Have a bracelet coming so should be interesting how it fits with the additional weight. Had most sport Rolex’s and none were as comfortable as the Pro not even the Daytona. Have the BB58 as well and the Pro is taller but just as or more comfortable. But that’s just my experience.
