Tudor ETA Service Cost?

Anyone sent a Tudor Black Bay with ETA movement in for full service recently to RSC? Curious to get an idea what they are charging lately.

If it were mine, I would send to it any good watchmaker. I thought that was one of the main benefits of having a Tudor with an ETA that any decent watchmaker could perform a full (movement) service.

If it's out of warranty, consider using a highly qualified local watchmaker for the ETA movement. Will save money, and maybe time and stress of mailing it

Per BH RSC when I asked, same as a Rolex service.

I have also asked several renowned independent watchmakers and some charge more than RSC. Most charge the same as RSC.

Yeah, the problem is, if they don’t have a parts account, how would you get potential things replaced like crowns or crystals? Plus, the Tudor ETA does have a triovis regulator and KIF, so those aren’t standard.

If going indy, I’d probably still want one with a parts account.

It's nine years old and has some parts that need replacing. I think I want to do the full RSC service this time. Going to have them polish everything up too. Since I don't know the history of it I'd prefer to go this route, at least this time around.

Down the road I'll probably lean more towards an independent.

Don't they charge less to service an ETA vs the in-house though?

That makes perfect sense in that case

The RSC? They explained they charge the same price because it’s the same process and labor.

I may have dreamt this but did I not read somewhere on here stories of them changing out the movement to their in house calibre? I thought that was one of the reasons to go Independent. Maybe I am talking bollocks though!

I've always heard they charge less for the Eta because easier to work on and cheaper parts or something like that. I guess until I send it in for an estimate I won't know.

I was hoping someone on here had sent an Eta Tudor in for full service and could be me a rough idea.

It wouldn't fit even if they wanted to. The Tudor movements are too thick for the ETA case.

Mike, I asked my AD about service cost on Tudor/ ETA watches. He just had a Tudor Submariner serviced. Cost was $570. Complete service and all seals replaced.

Just received an RSC quote for full service on my 2011 Tudor Heritage Chronograph that totaled $650.00 for the service & $150.00 for the polish. I approved both and the ETA was said to be 7 weeks.

Thank you. Did that include case and bracelet polishing?

Thanks Dan. I imagine chronos are a little higher than three handers.

Not enough to double the price of a top grade 2824-2 (glucydur and incabloc) which is what the OP is trying to get serviced.

But if that bothers you, wait till you find out how much Ochs und Junior or even that new independent, Resence charges to service their 2824-2 equipped watches

Didn’t Tudor exchange the movement instead of servicing it?

That would be an issue, as now they are using Sellita, and not ETA anymore

Done that and it was the most expensive service I ever had as it had tritium parts which they insisted on replacing. $1200.

I serviced a Tudor Sub 79190 in February at my RSC for the equivalent of US$430.

The servicing alone, they call it "complete overhaul" on the invoice, was US$317.

Thanks for the reply. Just so I understand, the $317 was for the servicing? What was the rest for? Polishing?

Mike,
If you’re having it polished I’d take detailed before pics… you know we like that sort of thing here!

My AD has an in-house watchmaker who has graduated from both the Swatch and Rolex training. He tuned-up a PAM 111 for me and when the time comes I’ll take him my smiley-face ETA driven Tudors.
