First Rolex (Oyster Perpetual Date 115200)

Hi all!

Looking to get my first rolex and am planning on getting the Oyster Perpetual Date 34mm with black dial and smooth bezel. I've read that the reference has been discontinued - any idea if its at all possible to pick one up at an AD?

Would prefer to avoid the mark ups in the grey market, but not entirely opposed to going grey either.

Total beginner here, any pointers will be much appreciated. I'm based in Singapore if that's helpful.

Edit: Looks like it was discontinued last year, ADs will not be having that anymore.

Aw man, looks like I'll be looking at the grey market then. Thanks anyway!

Good luck! Lots of GM options in SG from what I've heard. Just got back from there a couple weeks ago, unfortunately didn't have the chance to go to Orchard.

No other options in the current Rolex catalog offerings as a backup choice? Last year, I added my name to the waiting list and come find out, that reference 124300 is now discontinued.. ! yeah, no way am I going to pay the high premium to get it.

I like small-to-mid size watches with date functions so unfortunately don't really have an alternative in mind; also rather not settle for second choice since it's a pretty chunk of change.

Yeah grey market prices have been pretty insane these couple years (or maybe longer), sorry you didn't get your watch! Do you have any AD recommendations in SG?

Certain colors, yes (turquoise, yellow, red). But the 124300 is alive and well.

Unlikely to have much luck, but they were still shipping to dealers (at least in the U.S.) for months and months after being removed from the catalogue. I will say that the old 34mm watches wore on the larger side, so the current 36mm DJ probably won't be too much larger.
