I tried on 41mm submariner date
Ok the hit this one out of the park. I’ve had the older models, vintage, 43mm sea dweller, deep sea, and 116610 and 114060 subs…but 41mm is perfection on me. Lugs, size, bracelet, just perfect.
Now I need to find one and so the hunt begins. |

There is something about the proportions of the 41mm Submariner. I think they did everything on it right. My only complaint is the slightly larger clasp, but even that is not a deal breaker.

I agree. At first the 41 seemed much larger than my 5 digit. After a few days I love the size of both. Weird how quickly we adapt and don’t even notice the differences.

I totally agree, OP.
My first Rolex was the 116610 and I sold it shortly after getting a 126610. I generally do not like watches over 40mm, but I much prefer the 41mm Sub over the 40mm super case version. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

absolutley agree, i have all: DSSD (too big), sd 43 (too big), 114060 (too big lugs), and new 12 series is maybe one of the best references in Rolex diver history!

Well the 11 series is 40.2 mm compared to the 40.5 mm to the 12 series. But the 11 series has a larger footprint when compared to the 12 series. Wear much better.

bold claim....is the latest ref. better than the 4 digit Sub references? just curious. Some say 4 digit Rolex references were the pinnacle.

Is the black or green sub better?

100% agree. No complaints except for the thickness of the clasp. I wear my watches on my right and when I work on a computer using the mouse (right hand), it's super uncomfortable.

In agreement OP. The proportions of the 41 are perfect. Slimmed down lugs and overall a more cohesive ensemble. Clasp is a little overkill, but it’s not a deal breaker.

Depends on the size you like…I have a bigger wrist and love vintage but want to create my own history and not worry about getting water in my vintage sub. Personal preference and was expressing what I like. Love the clasp. Good size for me.

I have a new 124060 and like it very much. I can not tell much difference between it and the last generation but both are great.

12 series are incredible, 124060 is my choice but the date version is just as perfect.
Contrary to many, I love the updated clasp. Compared to my older sub and explorer with the light, janky rattle clasp, the newer version is so much more refined and robust. I am not gentle on watches so I prefer the confidence of the new clasp. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Good hunting! For me it was a pleasure. It's the watch I wear the most.

It's alright but I prefer a larger diver. I bought the TT blue Sub41 because there's no TT blue SD43. I enjoy the Sub, but to me the proportions of the SD43 are unrivaled.

So, does the new clasp really wear differently with the added width???
I tried an exhibition piece on at an AD and, surprisingly against my expectations, I really did not notice a difference on the wrist. But, of course, is was not sized.

I have an 11 series SS 2016. Looking to add a black TT but like the super case so will look to get a later model 11 series TT. The bigger wrist presence is something I like. This seems to be a minority position.

Best of luck on the hunt! I think the 41mm is perfect and the LV just fit perfectly.
