OP 41 turquoise dial wanted any help ??

Unbelievably My wife has fell when out on a run this morning and smashed the glass on her oyster perpetual there is a slight chip
Out of the dial probably would go un noticed but I want to replace it white I’m having the glass done , I have spoken to my AD they are happy to replace the glass but will
Under no circumstances change or at least sell me a new face I know the watch is discontinued but they must have some where . Anyways they will not do anything to help other than a full service and a glass change at £800 . I don’t really want to change the dial to aftermarket I wanted it to be genuine but I don’t see any other options can anyone recommend where to buy one or has anyone got one HELPP thank you

What’s the original dial colour that came with the OP?

Try going into another AD and ask if the dial can be replaced along with a service?
What happens if the dial was badly damaged during the accident? are they (RSC) just gonna leave it?

In that case RSC would allow a one for one swap for the dial provided the original dial is damaged. RSC only wouldn’t allow dial swaps involving a change in colour.

Call Rolex directly and arrange service through the RSC. They will replace the dial If it is damaged.

OP asked for a new dial while keeping the existing one. If he just asked them to replace the crystal and damaged dial, they would no questions, but of course he couldn’t keep the original.

He said that they refused to replace it. I don't see how you can possibly infer from his post that he asked to keep both dials.

Call rsc st James square direct. I don’t see a problem with a same colour dial replacement. They certainly won’t change colour or let any spare parts out tho

Sorry to hear about this. First of all, I hope your wife didn't get hurt from the fall. From what I'm deciphering from your post....there is a small chip on the dial itself, and not just only on the crystal? Also, that she currently has a Turquoise dial? Or, are you looking to change the current dial color to Turquoise? I am thinking the latter would be impossible, even if the dials were available.

I suspect in either case, the Turquoise dial will be unavailable from Rolex since (as you already know) they have been discontinued. However, if her watch currently has this dial, there is a hint of a chance. I would try calling around to other AD's or to the RSC directly and inquire. Hopefully Rolex has a few spares sitting around in their factory!

Give RSC Kent or St James a call on Monday and explain your situation. State very clearly to them that you currently have a turquoise dial OP 41 in hand but was damaged from a fall. They will guide you from there.

If you are living near either would be even better if you walk in with the watch.
Sorry to hear about what happened and hope you get it resolved.

You are getting bad info. Call an actual RSC, they will replace the original dial if damaged.

You can still get the original green sub LV bezel and that has been discontinued for 15 years (ish).

Yes, if your original dial is turquoise and is damaged, of course an RSC will have/can get a replacement. No they will not change to turquoise from another color or let you keep the spare.

Talking to an AD does not mean youre talking to an RSC. Call the nearest RSC directly, they will do the repairs you ask for.

This isn’t true.

RSC in London have told me specifically I can change dial colour on my OP41. Not sure of the specifics yet, as they’re quite tight lipped. But I’ll be doing it soon:

Good morning,

Thank you for your email.

As previously mentioned, dial changes can only carried out when a timepiece undergoes a full chargeable service.

I think they meant that one can change their dial at service if it’s damaged. I highly doubt they would allow dial swaps to a different colour but would gladly be proven wrong.

I hope not!

I specifically asked them to swap dials, but I’ll email them now to see if the colours specifically can be swapped.

I was told the same while in RSC St James for a OP36.

Apparently it can only be done once 3 or 5 years (cannot remember which one they said now) has passed from the release date of that specific model.

Very much on a case-by-case basis

And only if the colour swap request is to a model that is in the catalogue. i.e. if the turquoise is discontinued, cannot request a turquoise dial colour.

Rolex keep spare parts. They will replace the dial (and charge accordingly).

Speak to a different AD or RSC directly. Or ask to escalate to the manager of the AD you bought your OP41 turquoise from. You must have some relationship with them to have been allocated an OP41 I assume.

Firstly don’t go through the AD, go directly to Rolex st James headquarters. Categorically they will not do any dial swaps for different colours, but in theory I think they would allow you to swap like for like. However the part will need to come from Geneva which is a bit hit or miss on timing and should be around £3-400 pounds plus the work for the glass etc

St James are generally very helpful and an AD would have to ask them anyhow.

That’s horrible luck. I’ve literally never seen that. A YouTube or Casey Neistat fell pretty bad off his skateboard, his Rolex appeared to be pretty fine except something got messed up with the movement. But not the crystal or anything. Also what you say is surprising about the dial. I was under the impression that they keep discontinued parts for decades to come
