Still no watches

I was at my AD yesterday day and the display cases of both Rolex and Tudor were pretty much empty. All the other watch brand cases were completely full. I spoke to the manager and she said the wait list for Submariners was still quite long. She did assure me I would eventually get the watch.

They have watches they are just in the back.
They sell them to who they want to mostly preferred clients.

Time will either provide you with the watch you want from your AD or you will become tired of the wait and buy from one of our Trusted Sellers. Either way you will end up with the watch you want. I would go the Trusted Seller route, get the watch I want at the best price available and enjoy the ownership experience. Tell your AD to then move you over to a different watch that you want and sit tight, enjoy your watch and wait. Good luck and let us know how it plays out.

All the trusted sellers prices are still too high. I would be willing to pay a little over MSRP, but not their current prices.

Maybe so. I have spent several thousands on jewelry with them, but I am by no means a preferred customer.

Not sure what is going on with my AD but they had maybe 4-5 watches in their Tudor display. One BB58 on a strap, several 1926 and a BB.

Patience. Prices are going to continue coming down this year. You will get your chance.

Be patient. Rolex at MSRP is the proper price.

Yes. I agree

There is a well known WIS on Reddit and another forum that tries to tell new buyers RRP/MSRP is discounted price. Don't listen to him!

Same boat as you. I stop by every few weeks just to browse & touch base, to show I'm serious & the AD "says" I'll get one when they're "available". But reading all the posts stating they have inventory in the safe is disheartening. Unfortunately the selectiveness of ADs are giving me the vibes of "don't ask to be invited/don't go where you're not wanted" when I'm willing to fork out the funds...

I have also noticed that Tudor seems to be getting closer and closer to Rolex. Hoping to get some Tudors I’ve been recently longing for. I’ve been very lucky so far on the Rolex side - amazing what a smile and polite conversation can get you. A prayer or two also helps. :)

Even with this downturn and upcoming recession I highly doubt we'll see certain models on the shelf for anyone to purchase.

As others have said, you need to be patient. Watches will come back to the display cases, but it’s gonna take some time.

It’s going to take a few months to meet the needs of everyone on the “lists.” Flippers are gone; Watch Eric said in a recent video 2/3 watches were snatched up by them. Many VIPs seem less interested in watches these days, too. I know a V VIP and he’s trying to get rid of his hoard before he loses too much money. Of course he wants top dollar for his second hand pieces, lol.

The whole thing is cooling down. Give it a few months longer and there’ll be watches at ADs.

This is definitely complex, but in simple terms, with interest rates going up, there will be fewer speculative buyers in the market. Look at the S&P500 this year. We are at an approximately 20% dip, and the fed hasn't stopped raising rates. I think many people were getting into watches during the pandemic because they had extra savings due to the lockdowns and stuff. Also, they may have made some money on real estate and decided to buy a watch. I would say with everything cooling off now; there is less demand. There have been a lot more incoming posts on the forums. I am not saying Daytonas will be in the case, but I could imagine you seeing an EXP2 or 126613LB in the case in the coming year.
