Steam Closets... experiences with them?

I have had the Samsung Air Dresser for over a year now and love it. It's cut my dry cleaning bill to almost nothing. I really have no complaints about it at all.

No chemicals (other than when you have to descale the unit).

Process is
* Add distilled water (when needed - about every 3-4 cycles)
* Hang your clothes (or stack some items like pillows, stuffed animals, etc.)
* Select your cycle (everything from quick refresh to sanitization to air dry to leather & fur)
* Start the machine
* Empty used water (same schedule as above)

There's a place where you can add an optional dryer sheet (if you want) to get a little bit (very faint) of a fresh smell mixed in with the steam.

The machine requires descaling about once every 2 months for me (we are VERY heavy users - like 2 cycles a day on average) just like your coffee machine would after some amount of use.

I'm not a big fan of its drying cycle... it seems like it's kind of a vacuum drying cycle and the clothes come out really stiff. But, other than that, I do appreciate all of the other cycles I've used.

Sanitization works well for pillows and the like.

The only thing I'm aware of that you can't use in it is silk. Other than silk, I've done leather, linen, etc. and have had no problems.

One caveat - you can really only get effective steaming with a maximum of 3 garments at a time. While there are attachments included that allow you to put up to 5 garments in at a time, to me, they're really not effective. There are three steam vents at the top that shoot down directly into the hangers and steam the clothes from the inside. If you use the attachments, the steam surrounds the garments, but doesn't permeate from the inside. That being said, it's still worthwhile.

I got mine really cheap... I found it on Amazon for like $899, but they wouldn't deliver to my ZIP code, so I called Best Buy and asked them to price match Amazon and they did it with no problem.

The product owner's manual specifically states in bold, underlined print, "NOT TO BE USED WITH TUMI PRODUCTS!"

If I'm not mistaken, there's a cycle for suede, but I *COULD* be wrong. I know there's a "Leather/Fur" cycle, so I'd presume suede would be okay. It's a very quick cycle, so probably not a lot of steam.

I think so... I tried the dryer method for dry cleaning, but that understandably usess chemicals. This is more of a freshener and wrinkle remover
