Questions about chain maintenance.
Hello! I bought a second-hand gold chain and I have some questions. 1) Is there a risk that the clasp will open? To slide through that space surrounded by gold? Is the circled space too big or is it OK? 2) Do you sleep with chains around your neck? Can you break it if you have a more difficult sleep? 3) Do you enter the shower with them? Do you put shower water / shampoo / shower gel on them? But in the pool? Can chlorine do harm? I mention that it is 14K.

Questions about chain maintenance.
Why is this in Rolex general discussion?

You just need to check if the clasp spring is still working, that’s all 585 gold is a strong metal, won’t easily bend or deform so should be fine

I'm only afraid of the clasp never coming off.

Rhodium plated 585 , looks quite worn, you probably need to re-plate it to keep it looking white gold.
If you like it wear it and don’t worry too much

I thought this thread might have been about chainsaws prior to clicking. I’m sorry OP, but I don’t know a whole lot about chainsaw maintenance, and nothing about gold chains.

Questions about chain maintenance.
That lobster claw should be fine with the wide terminal finding that it clasps onto.
On the other hand, I would have the o-shaped ring soldered together. It is the weak link in that clasp if the chain ever snagged on something. See the red circle and arrow below: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I also thought about that O, to soldered it because it is a weak point.
