Las Vegas

Hey everyone, I'm going to Vegas next week for the first time and being a foodie, I want to know what are the best places to eat from the high end to the best value (after I lose all my money gambling LOL).

You're not going to have any problems finding good places to eat........

Your problem is going to be deciding where and what type of food you want each night.

that, and every major hotel has a buffet that you couldn't possibly sample all of, without going back several days..

The most important question is where are you going to spend all your money and on what?

On the strip dining:

-Bellagio Buffet - classy food with exotic flair, must try!
-Rio Buffet - HUGE buffet, food from all cuisines!
-Planet Hollywood Buffet - Good overall selection
-Wynn Buffet - classy food, small selections
-Smith & Wollensky - delicious steaks (not as good as Morton's)
-Daniel Boulud @ Wynn - French flair, be sure to sit out side so you can enjoy the air and the water shows.
-Stratta @ Wynn - Delicious Italian food, one of my favorite spots to dine!

Off the strip dining:

-Morton's - enough said

Enjoy!

SW Steakhouse at the Wynn. Like the previous post sit outside to enjoy the waterfall.

Try the beef Carpaccio at Olive in the Bellagio. It's incredible, especially if you get a seat outside to watch the fountains.

Wynn Buffet! Wynn Buffet! Wynn Buffet!

Pretty much anything at the Wynn is the best... but especially the "deluxe buffet" at the Wynn, Fridays and Saturdays.

Sunday is the champagne buffet, and Monday - Thursday is the normal buffet... which is still good.

Sadly I know their schedule off to the top of my head.

My recommendation for best Steak House:

1) Del Frisco (not in a hotel - off the strip)
2) Craftsteak at MGM Grand Hotel
3) Prime Steakhouse at Bellagio Hotel
4) Envy Steakhouse at Renassaunse Hotel
5) Nine Steakhouse at the Palm Hotel

Best Janpanese-fushion restaurant is NOBU at the Hard Rock Hotel.

Best Seafood Buffet is Le Village Seafood Buffet at the Rio Hotel. (Carefull as there is two buffet at the Rio Hotel. Make sure you ask for the seafood buffet)

Lawry's for Prime Rib. Morton's for steaks. Aurole/Mandalay Bay for impressive wine cellar. Capital Grille for fantastic service (@ Fashion Show Mall, in front of Wynn). Canaletto at Venetian for impressive italian.

Don't forget the Celebrity Chefs who have their restaurants in Vegas too such as Emeril and Wolfgang Puck......

Here's a link to some of those:

http://gridskipper.com/archives/entries/060/60372.php

Then there's Barbecue like Memphis Pit, Lucille's, and Famous Dave's, to name only a few..............

You better plan a second trip if you want to hit all the good restaurants in town....

The Wynn can and does!

Though I agree there are a lot of good buffets in Vegas.

I could gain 60 pounds if I was put there for a month.

For an off strip dining experience (very close to the Stratosphere Hotel), I love The Golden Steer Steakhouse, since 1958. Celebrities such as Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr dined here and there are tables named after them -

Hugo's Cellar at the Four Queens Casino in downtown Vegas is a no brainer. Make sure to get the table side salad as it is one of a kind.

I'm headed up there sometime towards the middle of next week. It would be neat to meet some folks from here in person put a face with the names.

Vegas bound in the morning. If you need something to make Momma happy go the Eifel Tower @ Paris, great food ( make sure they get you the cheese puffs) and overlooks the water show at Bellagio. little $$$$ but well worth it.
Best roasted chicken I've ever had and the Fillet is slamin.
