Insurance on Rolex watches

Just curious how many of you have your watches insured and exactly what does that insurance cover? What companies would you recommend looking at for said insurance?

I use Hodinkee because it lets me easily changes the coverage amount and what watch to cover whenever I want. It is supposed to pay to the amount you designate up to 50% appreciation.

Hodinkee runs about 1 percent of covered value per year.

Prices are generally based on geographic location, such as zip code when asking for an online quote.

Yes. Also states you are covered if you simply lose the watch (i.e., go diving, watch comes off, disappears into the deep).

The only 2 negatives so far for me were (1) that you need to create an account before you get the details and (2) you need to go to multiple places to stop the spam emails (but all from hodinkee, not from outside sites).

Seeing all the rave reviews for hodinkee I’m thinking about switching over from jewelers mutual. I have about 4 months left on my JM plan before it renews, does anyone have any expertise switching to hodinkee with time left on JM plan?

JM wants nothing to do with high value collections, anymore. They are declining people right and left. Chubb or homeowners jewelry rider.
