Buy now trim later!

I had just decided I finally have everything Rolex I want and need. I have been imagining what I will trim from the collection.

This morning I missed a call from the AD. I figured maybe the Jubilee band I ordered finally came in.

The SA picks up the phone and immediately says, "Got something you might be interested in". I'm already thinking I really don't want anything else and how am i going to say that as I have passed on some great watches this year.

I feel a bit uncomfortable as I ask what it is and the AD says to hold on while they text me a picture.

I pick it up next week! Of course I said yes! Buy now trim later!

The one I remember passing on the most was this one!

I wanted a 116500LN. I'm not a fan of PM watches in general and didn't want the one I am getting believe it or not.

I passed on a couple of PM Day-Dates and Yachtmasters as well.

But it was a special birthday this year and the SM was trying to get me the Oysterflex..It didn't arrive and I got a BLNR instead, which I love.

This one was out of sight out of mind when I got the call today.

OMG this is a gorgeous watch, huge congrats. For me it's too small for a chrono but it remains a very attractive piece, no question.

Well, perhaps buying this will open the door to the 116500! That being said, do you think this watch will scratch the itch enough to where you won't really be chasing the 116500 anymore?

I have got both and wear the 519 a lot more than the 500.

Thank you! The AD said this was all they expected for the rest of the year but who knows how true that is or not.

Thank you! Really excited to get this one..obviously.. It wasn't really ever on my radar until earlier this year and had tried to get it for my birthday..

The AD really knew how to be super low key on the message and on the phone..so much so, that I'd have bet there was no way this was what they were calling about!

THank you! I got some harsh comments in my original thread about passing on watches...The AD made it clear it's ok to pass...

THank you! I got to try it on when I picked up a 214300 a few months ago..It was the first time I saw one and of course I tried to get the AD to let me have it..

Thank you! I agree and not to say at all that it's low key because of course it isn't but the Rolex bracelets really are an easier to spot without trying. I like the more casual Oysterflex and it works great with the other watches i have!

I never really was chasing the 116500.. I know how hard it is to get and to be honest the watches this AD has gotten for me in the last year is beyond anything I had hoped for. I even told the SM about the 116500, that I don't expect it and I am very appreciative how well I have been treated.

Of course if it's offered to me, I'd get it in a heartbeat but I think it's a bit over the top to expect from the AD considering the other watches I've gotten.

I also have a 116520 that I love so I'm more than in good shape with Daytonas..

Interesting..I did love the way the 519 felt on the wrist but it wasn't really sized so I didn't get the full effect wearing it. I wonder what gets more wrist time from other members who have both..

I'd bet the 519..

Huge congrats. I put a deposit down on this exact reference with my AD. Interestingly, the AD delivered on the 116500 (white), so a little reversal from you.
