My wrist seems to fall betwixt amd between.

when it's cool the watch feels fine, when it's hotter I feel it's too tight.

May have to compromise and wear a little looser

Congrats Michael! It is a true classic! Regarding the fit, you might want to consider purchasing a 1.25 link. I have one on my 116234 and it solved my issue. You can order one through your AD.

Enjoy!

Actually, I have already got TWO 1.25 links(!) which replace the 5 standard that I've removed from the factory length.

these two 1.25's essentially replace three standard (I originally had two removed, but the watch was a bit too loose, and removing three was too tight)

So probably "perfect" would be yet another 1.25 link, giving me a quarter link more than I have now (man, these things cost a bit though!!).....

Having said that, I'll almost have enough spare to create another bracelet! (six standard links)

At least I'll have options eh!

UPDATE!

I'm seriously considering the dial change that Rolex offer on new watches.....
I happened to see (albeit not for too long) someone with my watch (as above), but with BLUE BATON dial.

Obviously I'd have to see it in person at an AD so I can compare, but I found this picture of the dial on an oyster bracelet version....

What does everyone think? It really appeals to me - I think the blue goes great with the gold and steel, and I also kinda like that it's a bit different to the "classic" combination that I went for initially.

Funny, I never really considered anything other than the champagne, but now.....

On a side note, I notice from the picture that the date is in RED numbers; is this standard with the Blue Baton dial? I presume that Rolex wouldn't change the date-wheel on my watch if they did a dial change, or am I wrong on this?

I love some opinions on my dilemma... (and pics please if anyone has the combination I'm contemplating!)

Interested to find out about the date thing too - is the one in the picture the "roulette" thing? and would one deliberately choose that as an option if one wanted it?

That is a though question indeed. I must say, both the classic look and the navy blue dial look terrific in combination with the bracelet. The blue dial does give the watch a feeling of being more "unique", there isn't alot of watches out there with blue dials after all.

But the champagne dial is the colour of the classic date just. So in my opinion, you should keep your current dial.

That's my dilemma really.... I love the look of what I have, but I also love the slightly "retro" and different look of the blue.

I'll take my time (I have up to about 3 months according to Rolex St. James square), and compare both options at an AD.....

Anyone have any info on the red date question?

You could always buy an Air-King with a blue dial, hehe.

Just interested about the red date numbers really; I want to know whether the dial and the date-wheel are changed together, or whether my existing black number date wheel will remain?

I don't really mind either way I guess.

I still think I'm leaning towards the blue.......

With the champagne dial, the watch will blend in with your skin (I suspect), while the blue dial will definatly draw attention to your wrist.

No, it's fine (plus I wear glasses!)

The blue dial would of course be easier anyway, but that wouldn't be my reason for changing.

Anyone with an answer to the solid gold hands question? I have had some answers, and it seems that they are, in fact, solid 18k gold......
