YM 42 WG as a daily wearer

Hi all,
I’m on the list to hopefully receive a Yachtmaster 42 white gold with oyster flex soon.

Not having had a gold Rolex before I was wondering how this piece will stand as a daily wearer. With the gold being cast in Rolex foundries and with the other materials added, is the Rolex gold a little more robust than some other brands?

Does anybody out there have any thoughts or experience on this?

First of all congrats on upcoming acquisition.

Any Rolex is designed to be a daily wearer. It just depends on the person, comfort level and environment. This is why Rolex makes such a wide range of watches for different purposes in various materials.

As for gold, it will scratch, period. More robust than others is subjective and really irrelevant. If that is a concern, go steel. I would just wear the watch and enjoy.

Yes that’s certainly and elegant under the radar timepiece. Good choice if that is what you seek.

Mines been my daily for 2 years... I love it. The OF band breaks in and gets so supple. The WG flies under the radar but people who know know. The only high wear area is the clasp.. mines beaten to hell but otherwise its been nothing but amazing. I love the heft too. The more you wear it the more youll love it

I wear mine daily as part of my rotation - its one of my favorites for sure and often tempted to keep wearing it for weeks at a time
