If you are a whale most likely now - if you are a mere mortal then I would guess it would probably need a catastrophic economic melt down - and on that basis I would hope never. For many patience and persistence pays off

By outlet do you mean an AD or a pre-owned watch specialist (grey market)? As to the latter, the prices will rise and fall exactly as demand rises and falls. Rolex will sell at MSRP at ADs until demand falls below their counter supply, then there will be discounts. No store can remain in business for long without sales. What does the future hold in terms of price direction. Nobody knows. Waiting lists at ADs are in the view of many are imaginary. ADs sell to whom they want, when they want.

You will be able sometime in 2016. If you have a time machine, that is.

Perhaps at some point in the future. As we know, simply let your local AD know what you want. Deliveries are happening :)

Sooner than later .. I reckon sometime during the Autumn of 2023. There should be subs in the window ready for immediate purchase by that time .. GMT will probably be available with a couple of months of waiting..

It's impossible to say. It's largely dependent on if the economic backdrop continues to deteriorate and if Rolex adjusts production in response

Since you're looking for an "outlet", anytime in any of the Southeast Asia countries. See the guys with the store fronts in the shopping areas with a bunch of watches on display in their glass cases, then tell them you want the "top quality", at which they'll take you to the back alleyway into another storage unit and show you all the "AAA+++" grade inventory. Look for an 80% discount at the minimum.

or since you're in vietnam...cho ben thanh is a good start...lol.

Visited six ADs in Europe this last week. Here's the range of responses:
- Sorry, we only sell to locals
- We had a waiting list but it is closed. It will be a year before it opens, at least. After that, it's a 4-5 year wait
- Sorry expect 4-5 year wait
- Yes, we can certainly put you on the list. Expect a 4-5 year wait

So it's one of two things:
1) 4-5 years essentially means "never" for the average Joe (I've already waited 5 years, so now I'm starting another 5-year cycle)
2) When the world burns, no one will want watches. This will probably happen sooner than [1]

As with anything, if you're a big spender (Relationship) then you can bypass steps [1] and [2] entirely. That's why we still see incoming threads. (OMG, I hadn't even asked for that nice SS model and it was offered when I just stopped by to chat!)

You can do it now under the right circumstances. People post here about walking in and scoring. It happens. My AD offered me a BLNR on a walk in - right place, right time, right circumstances.

As to when you personally can walk in, point at a watch and buy, I have no more idea than anyone else, which is to say none.

the problem is, if this situation has arisen, you might not consider MRSP such a great deal anymore.

you might still buy second hand (if at all), not because of waiting time but because it will be cheaper than at the AD.

Well the OP is not buying stocks because they are still falling so why would anyone buy watches while prices are falling? They will be cheaper tomorrow.

Wait until people figure out that a disinflationary death spiral is even worse.

Never. Better yet, when a gallon of unleaded is 99 cents, because the economy is tanking and there will be a lack of demand.
