Anyone Here Own a JLC Reverso and a Sub/GMT

I love the reverso, but each time I try it on it feels too diminutive compared to my Rolex's and Panerai, however I'm small of wrist at 6.75" so should be a watch that works well.

who owns both and how do they feel over time after you've adjusted. I think L-to-L is 46/47mm on Reverso so longer than Sub/GMT.

lets see some pix please.

Just to give you guys a laugh, I've actually fashioned a card square the same size as the Reverso to tape to my wrist to get a handle on feel. Looks ok. just feel so so small each time I wear one. Maybe I'll just wear a screen print set to 10:10.

I owned a Grand Reverso and 5-digit Rolex sports. Grand size was a bit too big for my taste but it was easy to read.

If you feel it small, it's easy to understand why compared to Rolex super cases and Panerai. It's a dress watch (ish), it's supposed to be smaller, IMO.

The Reverso is a great watch, but I ended up selling it. It just didn't fit in my lifestyle. I travel a lot, active and rarely dress up. I guess I liked the idea of it.

Interesting. I have a 5 digit sub, new GMT etc. oddly my cardboard cut-out doesn't seem small at all.

I'm "on the list" for a Bluesy, but can't see that happening anytime soon (NZ has only 2 AD's), and given I have 3 Rolex's figured it might be time for something a bit left field.

Your kind input is very much appreciated.

Hi, yes I believe there's a few sizes. I've been considering the Tribute which comes in at 45.6 x 27.4 x 9.

We only have two AD's in NZ and their stock is always limited by demand. Our populous is just 4m give or take, so quite hard to see/try anything. I've only had one of these on my wrist once and it felt tiny. But pictures online suggest otherwise. as I say I have a smallish wrist at 6.75".

I have the Reverso and a couple 6 digit GMT's. It does seem a little small but I alos have a couple 33mm dress watches,so I like the size differential. Gives me that vintage feel, and the Reverso is such a classic. I found a used Grand Taille Reverso at my AD and could not pass it up.

This video made me fall in love with the medium/large reverso small seconds and when I went to try it on I felt that it fit my 6.5" wrist pretty well. I have not tried the duo face but the legibility on the monoface is not as great as I would hope coming from a BB GMT (Not comparable ik).

I was despondent after learning they raised the MSRP on these. Like I get it, luxuries etc. but doesn't seem worth the $8,300 price tag (large mono). Maybe there was a reason why MacArthur wore a Reverso but Eisenhower wore a Rolex.

He's totally right. JLC is a great watch company. The Reverso is a great watch. It just never seem like it would fit into my lifestyle. And so I may never actually end up owning one.

Have both, love both.
I have the Grand Taile Duoface which is the closest to the current Medium.
A smaller watch than the Submariner, but one that has incredible wrist presence in an elegant way.
The Sub is probably the best watch I own, but Reverso is the most beautiful.
Even after years of owning it, it brings a smile to my face and I admire just how beautiful it is EVERY SINGLE TIME I strap it on.
Here are the pics, my wrist is also 6.75"

I have a Reverso (large) and several Rolexes. They are just different. I urge you to go to an AD and try on various Reversos and see how they fit on you. Some sit on your wrist well, some are too long, some too small. You’ll know and a good AD will tell you. Same with Cartier.

I tried on a Reverso Tribute Duoface last week and really liked it. The blue dial was just beautiful! At some point I will add it to the collection. For now, it’ll stay on my short list. I’m tempted but budget dictates just one new watch.

JLC is probably in the top 3 best watchmakers in the world. I would put the best JLC watchmaker against any brand's watchmaker.

The Reverso is an absolute classic and super easy to dress down. You see a Reverso on someones wrist in a casual setting, that person is a watch person.

I concur. I can see this being a dress watch and great for those work dinners and client functions and flash xmas parties, but I personally like the juxtaposition of wearing something like this with some nice casual clobber too.

I am 100% in agreement. JLC is an exceptional time piece maker. I don't just say watch maker, because their artisans are creating the most incredible clocks. Their latest creation this year that tracks the precise orbital movements of the Earth and moon around the sun, in addition to all of the calendar and time keeping functions, is just remarkable. Everything is hand painted and it's a one of a kind museum piece.

They even offer personalized factory tours and you can take a variety of master classes with them where you can spend a large part of the day working with their clock makers or watchmakers to learn about different aspects of design and production. One of the classes focuses on movement assembly, another focuses on the actual producing of the intricate dials and hands, another class lets you spend the day with the Atmos Clock team. I mean who else is doing this? Certainly not Rolex.

JLC is literally inviting us to come visit them at the mother ship and then make a once in a lifetime experience out of it by witnessing the fascinating things they are doing first hand. I love JLC.

Ironically I've always loved the atmosphere too. Nearly bought one when I was in Singapore.

I have a reverso (medium) and a 40mm sub (and a 42mm panerai, since you mentioned that), and I find they also fit my wrist well. I’m about a 6.75 inch wrist as well.

the reverso certainly fits smaller than the other two, but that’s the idea (for me at least).

personally my taste in watch size depends on the watch—I love a 42mm offshore and would love to get one some day, but prefer a standard royal oak in 37mm. love a sub at 40 or 41mm but prefer a datejust or daydate at 36mm, etc.

I own a Medium Thin Monoface.

On smaller wrists I think the Duoface kills the art deco proportions. Not to mention it doesn't play nicely with the 1930s G-Shock explanation I give when asked.

The ostrich strap that JLC offers is well worth it. It splits the difference between tan and brown very well. I wear it with shorts and t-shirts then a suit in the same day.

My wrist is the same size as yours. Reverso comes in multiple sizes. I have their largest, non-grand complication version, Tribute Moon (now replaced by Tribute Calendar). Lug to lug it’s longer than my Rolex 116600. It’s not small on your wrist. It’s long and narrow and much thinner than the sea dweller. It’s one of my favorite watches.

The GP here is 44mm, so similar to a Panerai. You can see the size differences.

What a wonderful collection. very useful input.

I'm off to Vegas in Feb so guess I can see more options there than in my home country.

I have the tribute to 1931 white gold. It feels the right size to me.
Your mind when wearing the reverso and looking at your wrist wants to see round.
Appreciate it for what it is.
I bought the reverso as a dress watch and find myself wearing it with jeans and tshirt or shorts or formal.

Love the reverso

I have said combination with a 47mm Panerai. Look at the larger sizes of Reverso if you feel the one tried is small. You can even go to a Grande 976, which will make the Sub look small !

IMO, the Reverso is one of the most elegant watches on the market, and a must have. I consider the Submariner, Speedmaster, Reverso combination the most iconic three watch collection one could own.

Another person with both — have modern sub and gmt II and a reverso tribute duoface. They’re just different looks, but I find the reverso great for ordinary, everyday wear — though I wouldn’t wear it when I was doing beach or the sort. I find the reverso has good wrist presence — particularly with the sunburst blue dial. Plus reversos are strap monsters —really can have a different look depending on the strap.

Yeah, it comes with a blue strap, which I didn’t like — the blue on blue sort of made it even more formal and (to me) made the sunburst dial less special. So I put it on a brown strap. I also have the JLC canvas ones (black and brown) and a grey strap too.

I have all 3, and they're all so different.
My starbucks is sportier but can easily be dressed up.
The batgirl is quite noticable and tends to be a bit dressier
The reverso is an absolute wild card. I was afraid it would be too dressy, but it's sporty, dressy, comfortable, AND subtle. It might be my favorite in my collection
