To the no Sub with a suit crowd

The issue of wearing a Rolex professional model with a suit has come up several times. There are always some that vehemently say no Sub, no GMT, etc.

To those of you in that camp, check out

https://www.rolexmagazine.com/2018/0...-chairman.html

A picture is worth a trillion words.

Aha, the "appeal to authority" fallacy. There's no shortage of 'slebs wearing a suit with sneakers...

I wouldn't wear a sports watch, nor sneakers, with a suit, but since I'm not the fashion police, people are free to do as they wish.

On the sneakers I am with you. But not on the sports watch.

Wear what you like. The old rules are out the window.

And BTW- a GMT was originally made for people who usually wear suits to work (pilots whose uniform is a suit and business travelers that do business across different time zones, even though most of them don’t always wear suits any longer)

The only people that think this is a problem is a small minority of watch enthusiasts on the internet. That's it.

With that said, I'd never wear a yellow Doxa on a yellow rubber strap with a suit. Submariner looks great though...

Unlimited trillion$, actually. The Swiss banks got billion$ only a few days ago from Jerome.

Why isn't he wearing an American-made timepiece?

Markets would crash instantly if he was spotted in a Shinola.

Suppose the real question is what Powell wears when not in front of the camera of what he would be wearing if he were not chairman of the fed!

Actually, I think the Fed commissioned a study on this issue which came to that same exact conclusion.

Sean Connery, aka James Bond, made it cool to wear a Submariner with a suit, even a tuxedo. If it's OK with 007, it's OK with me.

I'm sure we can all agree that members of TRF look 100% smashing at all times, whatever clothing/watch combo they are rocking.

Not so sure about the fictional James Bond, though.

It's not the crime of the century to wear a sports watch with a suit, but there are better options.

I no longer wear suits, so it's not an issue for me, and I'll not question other's opinions on the matter.

Its not what you wear...

Its how you wear it

Of course you can wear a Sub (or a Sea Dweller) with a suit

Lovely family picture Brian! Be sure to thank them for distracting from the “sleb” shoe choice very well!

Even if this kinda stuff matters anymore, the Submariner isn’t the worst choice of watch to pair with a suit

Lmao, yeah. I get it. Long for me used to be day 14 on the way to the barber. Then he died. I hate finding a new barber so figured I’d grow it out.

Only a few more inches before it goes to locks of love.

I received compliments on the hair 10 to 1 over the watch.

Even my MIL told me she normally hates long hair on men but I pull it off very well and she likes it on me. If she couldn’t find issue I call that a win!!
