26240ST vs 15510ST - steel 50th anniversary

Wanted to get a group poll between 2 50th anniversary pieces - if hypothetically you had an opportunity to get either at retail:
1. 26240ST chrono / black dial / steel
1. 15510ST steel / blue dial

Which one would you choose and why?

240

That’s the exact watch I’m on the list for

Just floats my boat the best

I think 510 will outpace the 240 on this one though, as most are suckers for the RO blue dials

Despite having the 240 in silver, between these two I might choose the 510.

510, but only because I am not a huge fan of chronos (dial color has no bearing here, as I think the black dial is fabulous).

For me the ROC just looks much better with contrasting subdials. I like my 26331st much more than the newer chronos even though they have the better and newer movements. So I would go with the 15510ST. Also technically this is the 50th anniversary for the RO not ROC so I would argue it's more special to have RO 50th than a ROC 50th. (Ideally a jumbo but I was happy to get a 15510ST)

Blue.

I have black and found the new black to be a bit monotonous.

Depends, what does the rest of your collection consist of?

This… I would lean towards the 510… but I already have an AP ROO Chrono in my collection. So what you already have might want to inform what you collect.

If you had no other ROs in your collection, I’d start with the 15510.

That was the thought process as well when I got on the waitlist for a 15500 a few years ago, and the SA asked if I would rather like the ROC they had in stock at the time. Fast forward a few years and the 26331 Panda is my current favorite, so there's probably no obvious right or wrong choice.

It really depends on what you have in your collection.

For me I pick 26240st as I don’t have ROC

15510 blue for me, but it comes down to what you have in your collection. If it's the only AP, I would say 15510. If not, a chrono is a great addition.
