Any Explorer 124270 owners pull out the Easylink on wrist?

Hi everyone,

I recently picked up an explorer 124270. I had a link taken out, still, the best fit is when I put the watch on and then shorten the bracelet with the easy link 5mm extension.
When I want to take the watch off, though, it is impossible to do so without pulling the easy link extension out first.
I end up opening the latch then pulling out the clasp, and finally, holding the dial against my shirt or pant leg to pull the EasyLink extension out.
This isn't a huge deal, but want to know if anyone pulls the Easylink extension out on their 124270 before unhooking the latch to the bracelet.
Thanks for the insight.

I have not experienced this. If needed, I have only pulled out the easy link once off wrist.

Do you have smaller wrists and/or larger hands, such that you need the extra 5mm to enable your hand to pass through the open bracelet aperture?

I have to open the extension to put it on/take it off. I have pretty slim wrists at 6.25. The balance is just right when on, and the extension closed, but my hand is big in proportion to my wrist so needs opened up to put it on/take it off.

I've considered having a link removed, and one of the outer slots in the clasp used instead, but I think that might put the balance of clasp off, so I just go with how it is.

if the clasp is designed properly (Rolex knows a thing or two about this, that shouldn't be the issue but anything is possible)

either the clasp doesn't open sufficiently for the average person or your hand is disproportionately larger than your wrist?

Yes. I don’t think my wrists or hands are particularly large, but yes, I can’t take off the watch unless I open the easy link.

Same for me. How are you unattaching the Easylink? By simply pulling it with the other hand? That Easylink is quite stiff. You don’t worry about prematurely stretching the steel?

I just open the clasp, and pop open the extension with my thumb - nothing too intense. I think at first the easylink was pretty stiff but it's relaxed. I'm not too concerned about the longevity, not sure if I should be.

Interestingly this is not a problem I have with the GMT Master II: I think this is because the head of the watch is bigger and I'm using one of the outer anchor points inside the clasp for the bracelet. My wrist is of course the same size for both watches!

Good observation. I don’t have to release the Easylink because my hands are average size. But, it’s still tight taking off the Explorer.
