Removal of green hologram on case back
Just bought an older piece with some of the green hologram sticker attached.
The top plastic like piece peeled off easily. It left a gummy/goo on the case back. What is the best way to remove this residue without scratching the case back? thank you. |

I normally use a paper towel with alcohol on it. Just kinda dab it on a bit. It'll loosen right up. Then I use my favorite watch cleaner (baby shampoo) to clean the entire watch.

That would work for sure. I just never have that on hand, but I always have rubbing alcohol.

Alcohol is great..... For drying out rubber seals. Would not use that.
Use a cotton ball dry to grab most of the goo. Then soap and water with another to finish the job. Watch seals are made to prevent water ingress. Not chemicals. Even perfumes and lotions are hazardous. As stated in the owner's manual.

You did good. It's stainless steel, you will have trouble harming it with almost any solvent. You would also have to be a magician to get any fluid that could damage them, anywhere near the seals.

Just grind it off with a Type 27 grinding wheel. Will save time and cleans it right up!!
Seriously, just use any gentle solvent then wash and rinse with mild soap... |

A hair dryer. And naphtha (lighter fluid). I’d stay away from WD40 and goo-gone.

I was just going to suggest that. I have some at home and it works wonders for removing sticky-like goo. I can't imagine it would harm the watch either.
