LV No Date Sub?
I have 126610 LV that I really like. I like the green bezel against the Black dial. However, I think I like the 124060 better as it is symmetrical and lacks the cyclops, which I tolerate.
Has anyone bought a No Date and had an independent watchmaker switch out the bezel? Or is this a crazy idea? Could I then sell the Sub Date LV with the black bezel. Would this increase or decrease its value? Again, am I crazy for even considering doing this? Is this even possible ? |

I have never heard of this with ceramic bezels. I am actually considering adding the 124060. I had it, used it to get the 12LV quicker, and miss it. If you can do both I think they are the best of both world.

I own both references and I think they are so different they can coexist in a collection well. As for switching the bezel, it can be done but it is a tad delicate switching ceramic bezels back and forth. On the subject of reselling an LV with a black bezel that would be wrong. It would end up costing the end buyer a good chunk of change to get the green bezel put back on. Not worth it at all. You’re better off with one or the other if you can’t have both

I was thinking if you sell the an LV with a black bezel, it would be priced as a LN. The buyer could keep as is, or have the option of switching to the green bezel at a later date. I think it would be a good deal. |

I think it would only be fair to place your price lower than the LN. You’re changing parts which makes the watch “not original” in the eyes of Rolex because the reference number on the case says LV. When the new owner sends in for service Rolex will change the bezel back to green no matter what and it will be on the buyers dime. Which is going to be a 2-3 thousand dollar service. The better route for you would be to source an LV bezel for your 124060. Then you can do with it what you will while leaving the integrity of the original LV.

Interesting idea, if you ever go ahead with it please post plenty of pics here. It will become a very controversial thread.
