Insight from one AD

Do with this info as you will, this is from a store in the SE United States, where I've acquired numerous pieces in the past five years:

1. They're getting a higher number of Rolexes

2. Everything is still list-based, but they're able to move through the lists faster

3. They're getting very, very few precious metal watches, and those lists are moving slower than in prior years

I hear the same also. PM is very slow to arrive, especially in 36mm DDs. Platinum is even slower. I suspect it is really a demand issue as Rolex can only make so gold relative to SS. It wasn't long ago PM models sat in cases and were only sold through discounts, so the same limited deliveries then were not as noticeable.

Good point - in the past I recall PM pieces would sit in the case for weeks/months. Now as wait-list items, the lower production is noticeable.

As recently as 2018 or 2019, I tried on a rose gold Daytona that was an inventory item, sitting in the case. I'd seen it in the store on several consecutive visits - was told some expressed interest, but no one pulled the trigger. Can you imagine how quickly that would go today?
