Anything off with this 7928?

Hi,
Considering buying this Tudor 7928. Seller lives 30 mins from me, so I will be able to pay and pick up in person. The price is bit below c24.

From what I can see on Tudorsub (cant post link) it seems to be a MK7 which fits with crown guards, serial and dial.

Does anything seem off to you? Aside from missing lume pip.
TIA!

Heres info from seller:
Serial: 57****
Cal 390
No bracelet
Unknown service

Thé insert is later. It should be a long 5. It also may be cracked as there is no black paint at the bottom of the triangle. I’m liking the Lolly pop sec hand; dunno if right for this year. I am on the fence about the dial printing of the Tudor script. The first image it looks redone then gets better in the last. Let’s see if others are happy w it.

The lume plots look like they have had some kind of intrusion, water maybe?

I don’t think it’s a redial. I think the serial and the dial and hands align. Hq Milton has a near identical 1966 7928. Check it out. What are they asking ?

Thanks for all feedback!

I agree, the one at HQM on a nato-strap (that's sold) looks quite similar. Would have been cool to know what HQs asking price was.

The seller here is asking 6K. Lunaroyster is selling one in a bit better shape and with bracelet for 10,5k, so I feel 6k is fair.

The lume plots would be a pass for me. They will never look right unless they're redone.

I have to agree. They don’t look patinated, or even aged, they just look dirty.

The insert is correct here - just the very rare version MK4 "regular 5" (about 1966 to 1972).

Greetings,
Xeramic

Perfectly fine watch for me - not uncommon for a t swiss t matte (one year btw was semi-gloss) 66 to have 'dirty and sometimes sunken lume plots'. Like it on that strap too matches dial/lume imho, though a 9315 is always best !

£5400 is a steal as the mid case and c/back and fl290 are worth nearly that.

Ps if you do buy, spin the caseback off to facilitate checking dates stamped (that vaguely match serial or is undated service one) also check mvt is ok should crudely be silver not earlier brass coloured)...Worth checking dates stamp as a 7928 case back is time consuming and c $1000 to locate year matching one.

Final point, don't be put of if winding action is not super-smooth... it's a trait of the Fleurier to be slightly coarse/non-linear winding action.

Thanks again for all input guys!
The comments from Xeramic and TuRo makes me feel a lot safer.

Of course now the seller has stopped responding, so he might have gotten a higher offer from someone else (the watch was listed on local classifieds site)

That is a risk that we all have to take when posting here or at VRF but frankly better to be safe than sorry. Its much harder to get your money back once you have bought something, especially if its from a private seller. I think you did the right thing by asking the experts here.

If the asking price has moved up, I wouldn't be too despaired. There will be more of these coming around.

Wise words.

Astonishing Tudor. If you're always here in Europe and I'll buy it from you!

alwayshere that's a beautiful Tudor!

And yes, 100 % agree. I know too little about these to be confident without asking the pros here.

Spiffing piece - different batch/date as prominent gold gilt minute markers- very nice.

The 66-69 lume used by Rolex/Tudor/Omega had an ability to get dirty/moldy looking.

Unsure on the insert, photos not good enough, the tops of the 40 / 50 look concave rather than convex
