Your first ever watch and your current?
Thought it would be fun to see the first ever watch you owned and your current (or favored) watch. I am in the mobile phone industry and am often asked what my first ever phone was so thought it would be fun this way around as it really brings up some classics!
My first was the Casio Data Bank when I was 9/10 years old (unfortunately I cannot find the original 1980's black on black strap but this is close enough for you guys to know) followed by my current sub purchased when I was 27 - there have been a lot of different ones in the lifeline though! I do also have a recolection of a silver casio that had a digital circular pulse display when on stop watch but that is a very distant memory. So over to you guys... |

My first watch was a Bulova divers, a present from my mom and dad when I was about 8 or 9, since that was almost 50 years ago i do not much remember what it looked like.
My latest purchase is this Breitling superquartz: |

Mine was a Pagol Automatic (Swiss watch with a coconut tree as logo) in 1965, bought used, for one dollar. Latest, SS Daytona.

My first watch was either a Cadet or a Kadet, back when I was six. It was a Swiss manual wind with a metallic green dial, on a bracelet (I think it was Oyster-style but it could well have been Jubilee), fairly similar to a Lady Datejust.
Hardly anything's changed - my watch is now just automatic, with a black dial:

I had a $45 Lorus that my father bought me at Hudson Trail Outfitters. It came with a rubber divey sort of strap, but I found an old fliplock oyster bracelet (not Rolex) in a box of watch parts. I wore it though senior year of high school and then US Army Basic Training. It was a solid watch. After Basic I got my Seiko 7a28. I then gave away the Lorus.
A year or so ago I bought this one on ebay. I wish it kept time. |

Wow - that casio what a classic! I had one of those too. They has a really poor backlight that light up half the watch from the left hand side! My Casio data was stolen from my locker in a public pool. Luckily no such misfortune with the Sub.

The casio alarm chrono rules! So many memories coming back now. Didn't the display go silver if you held it an the right angle under water?

I was gifted several Elgin watches, one each, from both of my grandfathers along with each of their Elgin pocket watches. I still have them in my vault and they all need some work to bring them back to life. My first new watch was given to me by my Uncle opon my Confirmation. It was a stainless steel Timex if I remember correctly. It ultimately got wet and ruined and is long gone. I suspect my grandfather's watches got me interested in "nice" watches because I remember old Rolex ads in National Geographic magazines and ultimately learning more about them. At about 49 years of age I finally got my TT DJ that I had pined for all those years.

I have to find my first casio, F-100 & F-200, man they were the bees knees back in its day :-)

My first watch was so long ago, I don't even have a picture of it. It was a Casio though, and it looks something along the lines of this, except it was RED:
My first real watch that didn't resemble a toy and could actually be called a watch was the G-Shock AW-510 like this one (but with a black dial): Then came a lot of others in the middle. Currently:
