jubilee vs oyster bracelet?

IMO, oyster bracelets show more scratches but I do prefer them over the jubilee, I feel they both show wear about the same.

The Jubilee is very flexible with its smaller links....some could argue that makes it more comfortable from new.....it is a bit more flashy because of course it has always had PCL's....it scratches just the same but you notice it less as it's normally confined to the top surface where contact is made with any hard surface, eventually this contact surface can wear a flat on the top of the links, I have a bracelet that has suffered this, having said that it still looks good......I also have an Oyster and a President bracelet on other watches.....I love 'em all to be honest......

A lot depends on this....is it SS or TT for instance.....which watch head do you want it to fit....the new Super Jubilee or the older style?....if it's the 116034 it is very probably possible......new bracelets (even SS ones) can be expensive...

jubilee is more jeweled or somthig like than, in spanish is "es mas Fino" more for dressing up nice, the Oyster is more sporty, though they are both great

Going from a SS oyster on a new TOG to get an additional jubilee is £859. Call it £750 with my discount.

You can get a quality aftermarket for less than 100 US dollars, if you wanted to try out the look. If you like it, take the plunge and get a Rolex Bracelet.

I love my oyster bracelet. I tried on a jubilee bracelet and like its feeling so I went ahead and switched out to a non-super jubilee two tone with non-SEL's from my 16233, A series. I switch them from time to time, but much prefer the oyster bracelet.

Yep they do. The jubilee shows almost no scratches at all. I would take a Jubilee over an oyster band any day.

I've worn both. The Jubillee shows less sratches, so it's easier to maintain.

Long known as a jubilee fan I still love the classic oyster too. Not to mention a nato or two just to drive JJ crazy.

Too funny Alan, the only watch I prefer in a jubilee is a DJ, don't get me wrong it looks good on any oyster (I prefer oyster for every other model) but the DJ and Jubilee seem to go together like peas and carrots

I like them both, but some watches look better on one rather than the other...

The Jubilee was introduced on the GMT in 1954, I think, I like both. the new Jubilee is much better then the old model which some say was more comfortable, but had it;s drawbacks and issues with ware. The Oyster is tought as nails and if is all bushed is very easy to maintain.

No double lock on the Jubilee

Dan, have you ever had your Super Jubilee come undone?

I tried the jubilee because I like the look. It lasted a week. From now on it's the oyster for me!

Will the new style of jubilee bracelet be relatively stretch-proof compared to the old style? That's probably what's most important to me - which bracelet will stay nice for the longer period of time. Clearly that was oyster in the past, but I've had a couple of watchmakers indicate the new jubilee is an incredibly solid bracelet.

Much less chance of stretch with the super jubilee...it was wear to the central polished links of the older jubilee's that caused the "stretch"....(which of course isn't stretch at all...it's just frictional wear).....the new jubilee's have solid centre links so the problem almost goes away

I love the look of both. I have a jubilee now so my next watch will definitely be an oyster. When I was looking a few months ago, the AD actively tried to deter me from choosing an oyster due to the ease with which it scratches.

To my eye, the GMT Master looks better with a Jubilee bracelet so I switched to one a couple of months ago. Cost was approx US$500 at the Rolex Centre in Singapore. It's definitely more comfortable on the wrist than the Oyster, but I wouldn't recommend it for any of the other sports models.

Classic jubilee has the stamped clasp, hollow center links, w/ seperate end pieces.
The super jubilee has solid center links, hidden clasp, and integrated end pieces.
