Bucherer Punched Papers?
I just wondered if anyone had knowledge on this issue.
Evidently a lot of vintage models that were sold by Bucherer in Switzerland were not issued with punched papers but rather have simply a hand written Rolex Warranty Certificate? Is this so? One has to be wary about a re-birthing of watches by some buying open certificates off e-bay.

Not sure on that Lol-x....
But I do want say IMO that it should be illegal to buy and sell rolex papers on any site!! Everytime I see these it makes me cringe as Im sure the person who purchases this will use it to deceive....If they are punched papers with a serial number, why buy one if it doesn't match your watch(for a legit buyer to complete a set).... Just my Rob.

Hello Steve. I've seen several through the years. After all, it was just a warranty paper, and I'm sure some ended up lost or misplaced by the dealers, clerks and sales people - to be replaced by handwritten warranty papers. They were obviously available to dealers, as they can still be found today. The supply is starting to dry up, which makes it "ripe" for the counterfeiters to practice their trade.
Today, as the older watches have become collector pieces, the more accessories you have, the higher the value realized for the watch. It's the collectors that have placed the premium on vintage watches with warranty papers.

I actually have some of those too with my old '69 Datejust (bought by my father from Bucherer in Zurich back in the day).

I'm talking about a watch purchased from Bucherer in 1980.
I would have thought that even if there were not punched papers that there would at least have been an AD stamp on the 'unpunched' papers by way of authentication
