Favorite Watches from Movies & TV

After many decades of watching countless hours of TV & movies (it was my college major, after all, lol!), I find myself now literally pausing shows frame by frame, in order to tell what watch the characters are wearing...

Of course, it's so much easier when the creators just come right out and advertise it...I'm looking at you, John Wick (and of course Matthew McConaughey in "Interstellar," Robert Redford in "All is Lost," Will Smith in "MIB"...)

Anyway, basic question - ever buy a watch, simply because it was in a cool movie? I know I have!!

I like the JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual worn by Dr Strange. It's timeless like he is.

I wanted a IWC Top Gun Chrono for years. I did finally just buy it… and honestly think the wife was influenced by the movie lol. She has previously said she didn’t care for it but changed her opinion a few weeks ago in Vegas.

I was tempted to buy a seamaster after binge watching Ray Donovan.

I don’t know if I ever bought a watch, because I saw it in a movie, but it certainly brought recognition to the product, e.g., (early) James Bond and Rolex … (late) James Bond and Omega.

Hahaha!! Of course!! That was my first Rolex, literally because Magnum is the greatest show in the history of television.

Anybody a fan of the original “Top Gear” - now “Grand Tour” guys? They have some pretty great pieces…

Richard Hammond regularly sports a Pepsi and James May has my orange & white Milgauss.

Colin Farrell playing Sonny Crockett in the Miami Vice film famously wore a beautiful VC 47112 Perpetual chronograph in platinum. Didn’t influence my decision to buy.

Roger Moore really got me into the Seiko Golden Tuna, my favourite dive watch.

Bueche Girod (not necessary the exact model worn by De Niro in Casino), Mathey-Tissot (from The Irishman). The list continues with various DD 36, the YG DJ 36 worn by Renner in The Town and 6 digit Submariner Date

How can anyone top Butch Coolidge's watch -- a Lancet trench watch -- gifted to him by Captain Koons in Pulp Fiction?

Talk about provenance!
