I've never seen that dial and the serial number and model number should be between the lugs. I don't like it.

Its a real vintage DD with the piepan dial. The problem is its been heavily overpolished including between the lugs, hence numbers are history. The case lugs and inside between the lugs should be satin finish and not shiney.

Looks like a vintage piece I have came across before with the tapered hour markers, although the lack of case engravings is curious. Perhaps it has been filed off for whatever reason, but that alone will stop me from buying it...

Looks like an 1803 dial, crystal looks right, the stick markers I'm not 100% on, plus the hands are newer for this style, should be pointed.
The absence of a model and serial are kind of a worry depending on the life of this watch, I would get a reputable jeweler to pop open the back and have a look, I think your answers will be with the inside of the case back and the movement.

Date window looks wrong however this could just be the angle of photo. It should have 2 dots on the crown under the coronet unless is very old then I'm not sure.

It looks like a Day Date that has had some work done to it... Dial seems to be OK tritium for an older model, but the hands appear to be newer Luminova
This photo shows that the numbers have probably been intentionally ground off............ there is never a reason to do this, unless it is illegal, and it makes the watch almost worthless from any collection standpoint.. The crown is OK, two dots would be for the white gold model to tell it from stainless..

Sometimes old step dial day-date heads like yours
are so used that the thinly engraved serial and reference numbers are almost invisible, use a good magnifying glass. |

Sometimes the use of a leatherstrap tend to erase the serial and ref.#....I had a 1803 that looked like that.....only 3-5 numbers where still visable. Remeber...gold is a soft metal...and the watch is old!!!

It appears to ok but if you can open it it the model number will be on the inside of the case back an 1803 most likely the fact that the numbers are gone doesn't mean that anything nefarious has occured just age and wear. I just serviced a 1500 s/s date model from the original owner and his body skin acid literally dissolved all the numbers between the lugs.It happens so no biggie it can still be completely restored to like new condition. I believe it has a 1555 calibre movement a non quick set so learning how to set the calendars will be fun for you Rik the watchmaker
