Alpine Eagle variations

How are we feeling about the new releases from W&W?

I really like the new salmon dial and the movement - just not that $22k price tag.

I'll stick with the one I have for now.

I think both the XPS and the Cadence look awesome. I’m not really a salmon coloured dial type person, if they put that LUC movement in the other models or came out with some different colours I’d probably be a buyer.

Amazing dials these Chopards, and actually much vibrant in real life, Chopard is on fire with Alpine Eagle models.
Congrats for the owners

I have the regular AE in blue dial. Love the watch. I do understand why the price of the new AE with LUC movement is high. I felt Chopard purposefully kept the basic movement in AE initially so that it could compete in the mid tier of luxury sports watches with likes of Bvlgari Octo Finissimo and GP Laureato. The bracelet, dial, and case were all finished to the level of Moser Streamliner, Czapek Antarctique, Parmigiani Tonda PF, and VC Overseas from the start.

Now Chopard feels bold enough to compete in the top tier segment. I liked the press photos of the new AE but was not blown away by the salmon dial in real life photos/videos. I will wait for another dial color in the LUC line to get my second AE.

It will be interesting if Chopard keeps three distinct tiers of AE going forward; one with basic movement priced around $14k and competing in the mid tier, one with 8HF movement and titanium case priced around $18k, and a premium AE line with LUC movement and priced around $22k to compete with likes of Royal Oak, Overseas, Streamliner, and Antarctique.

My ignorant butt got excited at first sight of the new no date salmon dial thinking it might be MORE affordable than the current AE. Of course, upon further investigation, I saw the movement upgrade.

I don't like 4:30 dates and I actually prefer no dates on most watches, so I would love a "base" AE with the sub seconds and no date. I think the price of the new L.U.C salmon dial AE is a little aggressive.

I absolutely love the AE and think it blows away the Ingenieur. It's my favorite attainable integrated by far.

Not v exciting releases from Chopard although I'm a fan of Alpine Eagle, having visited the Boutique recently trying the blue/green dials
