116518LN vs 126518LN Daytona (aka Paul Newman)

Has anyone noticed the changes, besides the bezel update that the red seconds hand is no longer present and the black subdial hands are now gold?

Personally, I love the red seconds hand on the 116518LN and without the red color it is not as nice on the 126518LN.

Your thoughts?

I find the red second hand makes it look more special and stand out. By the way, does anyone sell this old version?

Welcome to the forum. Check our classifieds section or reach out to one of our trusted sellers (any of the gentlemen that have the boutiques at the top of the classifieds) and they can likely source a nice pre-owned one for you. No AD will still have a new watch sale but you can likely find a nice used example.

I have been on the waitlist for the 11 Series version of this watch, which I assume moves me to the waitlist for the 12 Series …

these small changes seem substantial to me, in the appearance of the watch, to the point of …

these changes have taken me from … I really want this watch, to … I don’t think I will take the 12 Series if / when offered.

The older ref definitely looks much better. The red second hand really set it off for me! I also like the older subdials without the inner black ring. Also, they should have kept the black hands for the subdials.

Are the numbers in the ceramic bezel now silver color/Platinum vs gold in the older model? If so, that would be a big negative for me as well.
