The 9315 clunker

This is the first time I have ever engaged in a forum of any kind despite my 70+ years on this planet. I don’t know if this is the correct part of the forum to throw this out there but I will take my chances. I bought my 1680 Sub new in 1980 from Slavick’s jewelers in LA. It has a 1979 SN. I had the watch serviced for the first time in 1988 at a certified Rolex dealer in Oregon. I had an issue with the watch stopping when I rode my bike. Anyway, the watchmaker fixed the problem and also switched out the original bracelet for a much quieter and more secure solid link repo 93150. I thought it would be cool to switch over the clasp, blades and extension at the time so I could fool people with the repo remainder. In the process of removing the 9315, there may have been some damage done to one of the 380 endlinks. It was replaced with a 58..which is close but different. I didn’t realize the situation until I looked at the envelope of pieces recently thinking of putting the original parts back together. The clasp had fractured at both contact points. I was planning on sending it down to Rolliworks to get restored. Anyway, I need another 380 and I thought there may be someone out there who might need a genuine 58 and would be willing to trade. I plan on passing this down to my younger brother who would indeed appreciate it, especially in its original configuration.

I am sure Rolliworks will be able to find a 380el


may I suggest you contact Springer he may be able to help . 380s do pop up but are expensive but well worth the money just be careful you are buying a OEM part

Thank you for the quick response! I have communicated with Mike at Rolliworks and he knows that I am trying to get one before I send the pieces to him. To my knowledge, no one is reproducing 380’s. They call them that but they have nothing to do with a genuine 380. How would I contact Springer? George

Were you still using the repro? If so, isn't it easier to buy a new bracelet just in case?

Have you considered buying a genuine 93150? You might be able to have better luck posting a want to buy ad on the vintage rolex forum. Would love to see pics!

I really just want to get the original 9315 bracelet back together. It is in several pieces with fractured tabs on the clasp and an incorrect endlink. I may not even put it on the watch as it proved not to be a very good daily wearer for an active person. I think I’ll try the classifieds to see if anyone has a 380 for sale or work a trade for the 58…which I believe is desirable as well. I appreciate the input I have received so far…this is kinda fun! If I wished to post a photo or two would I do that here on the reply area or do I need to start a new thread?
