Rolex Guam AD experience

I just came back from a relaxing week in Guam. If anyone is ever in Korea or Japan, I highly recommend going there, as it's only a 4-5 hour flight. It's very similar to Hawaii but less crowded and generally a lot cheaper.

There was a Rolex AD right by my hotel. I went on Monday to see what they had. No sports models as expected. But they did have have a 2 tone DJ, a 36mm OP with the blue dial, and a 41mm 2 tone Wimbledon, and the usual assortment of women's DJs.

The SA said that they were expecting a shipment that week and would call me when it came in.

The call came on Wednesday but I was on the other side of the island at the time. I finally made it back a couple hours later. In the shipment, they received an Air King and an Explorer 2. Both were sold right away. They operate on 1st come 1st serve basis...so you just have to visit at the right time. I wasn't interested in either so it was no big deal. But I would have really regretted it if they did receive something I wanted.

One great thing about buying in Guam is there is no sales tax. So you get a lot of Koreans (which has VAT of 10%-20%) go there to shop for luxury goods.

There were some other ADs (Tudor, Omega, Bell and Ross) by my hotel but I didn't bother visiting since I really wasn't looking for anything.

Even though I struck out on a Rolex, Guam is a wonderful place and I will definitely try to make it back in the near future. And here's some pics of my 16600 in action!

Guam is on my bucket list. Now knowing that they have an AD, it makes it all the more.

Someday, someday.....

Went there tons as a USAF bomber pilot. Love the people, the beaches--the entire experience. Flew the first long duration B2 stealth bomber flight there from Missouri in 1996. Haven't been back since 1999 but will again someday!

There are two Rolex ADs on island. I stopped by yesterday and all were exhibition pieces. Put my name down for the new panda daytona. I'm glad you had an awesome experience.

Lovely Post, I am a captain in the merchant marine and we used to regularly do the Singapore - Guam/Saipan Run carrying Jet Fuel, Gasoline, Diesel for the Island… about a months supply each time.
Lovely Place, miss it.
