Caliber 4302 (15500ST) precision/accuracy specs

Thrilled with my new purchase! I know AP is not nearly as accurate as Rolex (32xx aside lol) and I’m not expecting it to be. But I am curious if there is any standard that AP sets and if my watch is performing OK. is it possible that the watch is magnetized?

Thanks in advance and apologies for the multiple questions in the sub for him. It’s my first AP and I am ecstatic

I have two pieces with 4302 and both run fast.
My Code sometimes can be up to 10sec per day. Initially I was bothered, comparing it to Rolex but after a while I stopped. I was told over time it will get better. I plan to buy new strap and when I bring it will ask the watchmaker to check if it’s not magnetized.
My RO is better, + 3/4 sec per day.

Congrats on the 15500st and going for silver dial. It’s a hidden gem.

Is that showing +13 seconds per day? LOL - I'm sorry but that is rubbish. A $50 japanese automatic Miyota 9015 will time better than that. In fact I have a 8year old Miyota still running +1s a day. No service at all since new.

I see AP movements havent improved much these days.

Understanding this is the AP forum, some people willingly throw thousands out the window for movements that run -1 +11 seconds a day.

There's more to collecting that timeographer data

your watch might be magnetised. putting it next to your iphone could make this happen. Some people like to take off their watch and place it on or beside their phone when they get home. There is a big magnet in the middle of your phone for wireless charging...

I have the 15510 which also uses the caliber 4302…

Just checked mine for the first time and it is running -2 seconds per day.

I never really get it - unless something is really broken, leave it and enjoy the watch and the best bracelet in the biz.

If we really wanted an accurate watch, you'd shell out $50 for a Casio that doesn't require a $2k service every 5-10y as well :-)

Congrats, happy to see you finally bit the bullet!

My 15500ST is +2.3 spd on average, considering resting for 10-12 hours per day dial up. After a day of being worn, it’s about +3.5.

Sure, it’s no Rolex or Omega and it took me some time to relax.

But timegrapher wise, it has the most perfect consistency I have ever seen:

Thanks! Agreed I love the silver, it’s my favorite by far (though black has been surprisingly growing on me). Yes I was thinking it might be magnetized. I will check.

That’s what I’m thinking. I’ll check and report back

Thank you Bogdan! That’s an impressive spec! I agree I’m not looking for Rolex style timekeeping, but want to know what’s within reason/spec for the brand
