Service time on a vintage Royal Oak II?

So my wife got this gold Royal Oak 8638 (29 mm with an automatic movement) for what seemed like a great price. The watch is in pretty good condition, probably seen some polishing on the bezel but overall pretty sharp. However it was disclaimed that it needed a service and not keeping time.

We took it to the AP boutique in BH to resize the bracelet, but also to check the timing and was told the amplitude was barely readable. So the watch was sent do in for a service, then we were told it had to go to Switzerland for identification and an estimate. It has been about a month and a half now, and no word on an estimate even. Does anyone have any experience how long this process takes and what could be taking so long?

BH sent my Series III (4100BA) to Switzerland for a complete overhaul. The wait was +/- 3 months and the bill was maybe $2,200 including an updated movement.

Good luck !
