Real or fake Datejust 116200

some desperate need of advice from some seasoned Rolex owners. I recently purchased a Datejust 116200, circa 2017. I purchased on Chornobyl 24 (I know, I know)

The seller was a very reputable seller. Did a ton of research on them (800+ 5 star reviews on google) one of the bigger names in OC California. My concern is the price I got the watch at. A very below market average of $6,300. Listed for 6,800. The dial also looks to be a lighter shade of blue than comparable models but I’m not a trained eye. Any advice? I know all the secrets with warranty card, crown on dial etc etc.

I know I can always return if it’s a fake and I’m tempted to drop whatever Rolex offers to have it serviced to get a peace of mind but that’s also a 4 month wait time.

I presume you bought it from Bob's?

Is your only concern that you might have an AM dial? Or are you concerned about other parts of authenticity?

In general, it's highly unlikely that you would get a fake watch from Bob's. Might it have an AM dial? Possibly, but, I would hope that they would identify and disclose that.

But, even if it is an AM dial, if you got a good price on the watch, you can always buy an OEM dial (there are tons available on ebay) and have it put on the watch. Or just keep it to have in case you ever send to Rolex for service.

Also, if you DO take it to Rolex and the dial is aftermarket, you'll have to buy a new dial from them in order to have them service.

Hey thanks for the reply!

I purchased on Chrono24. (I know not always great). With that being said, I bought from Happyjewlers, a very (semi famous) jeweler out of California. Incredible reviews online, 1400+ 5 star reviews on yelp. Celebs frequent the spot. Dial I suppose is my big concern. But their turnover might be so high on watches, my $6,300 datejust was just a crazy good deal.

Wish I could provide pics but I’m new to the forum so it won’t let me?
