Which one is a better daily?

If you have both a Submariner SS and a GMT SS. Which watch will be your daily watch? Always felt the GMT in oyster or jubilee bracelet was too much for a desk diver because of the shiny bracelet. The Sub is more matte and low key to me. I only wear the GMT in the weekends.

I have both, and find myself wearing the GMT most days. The date is nice to have, and I don’t find the GMT too flashy. Both are excellent watches.

I think the GMT is the dressier watch which suits it for more occasions.

i think any steel model from rolex is a great daily watch. why not daytona, for example ? imho: an absolutely timeless choice - for any day in life...

but all other watch families are imho also a pure perfection. can't go wrong with literally any of them.

fsgo: i like their current subs, but this is just my personal preference at given moment in time. its very subjective.

Neither is better. If you have both just alternate or wear whatever strikes your fancy on that day.

No absolute answer here, depends on the individual wearing the watch and the office culture I suppose. Personally, I don’t think the GMT is too flashy.

Waiting on my GMT but I mostly daily my SS black dial Daytona over my sub. Put the Daytona on a rubber B and it’s absolutely perfect.

They’re both stainless steel rolex so they’re both perfect for daily wear. Go for which one speaks to you most.

I have both, but most days wear the GMT into the office and Submariner when I am not….so I guess both.

I prefer the sub for daily bc of the brushed bracelet and more understated bezel. But I love the GMT too, it’s just a little louder. Can’t go wrong.

For me, it's always the GMT over a sub for daily wear. Works with a suit as well as jeans whereas a sub would would work less well in a formal setting and therefore less versatile as a result.

I wear my SS GMT more than my SS Sub Date but neither is "better", they are both iconic and fit for purpose. I work in multiple time zones and although not strictly necessary, I like to have two, sometimes three zones on my wrist. I've got my BLRO on the 116610 bracelet. It looks good, although the Jubilee is more comfortable.

Does one need to be a daily watch? Why can’t you rotate between the two. I have 4 watches that get equal wrist time. I consider all of them to be a daily watch. But obviously I only ever wear one at a time.

I have both and wear my Submariner as a daily. The brushed bracelet is less worrisome and the Sub just blends perfectly with any outfit.

I have a GMT Pepsi and that is currently my dress watch. I’ll only wear that when I’m wearing a tux or suit because the PCL’s give it a bit more pizzazz. I had a black tie event last weekend (of which I loathe anymore) and the GMT really works well with it.

I wear both, but if given a choice as for dress down then the sub due to the brushed bracelet.

I wear both in rotation, but do agree the GMT has more flash and wears well with business attire.

Neither the sub or gmt is “better”.

If you’re wanting the comfort of the glidelock adjustment go with the sub.

If you need multiple time zones, go with the gmt.

If you’re just worried about physical wear and tear again go with the the sub due to the brushed link bracelet (as opposed to the pcls on the gmt).

Of course there's no answer but I have several of each and rarely find myself wearing a Sub...The GMT's feel better on my wrist...

Your wrist time must be 70/30 Sub vs. GMT?
