I am curious for those here from New York if there any any New York watch clubs where members get together from time to time to show off and discuss timepieces etc

In the city as well. Check out Redbar and Complecto. They're an absolute blast - got to meet Roger Smith at one a few weeks back. Watch Time New York has an event every October or so.

Im definitely going to this years Watch Time NY. Gotta fig out what to wear there as NY has gotten dangerous with watch robberies non stop

I regularly see folks of all sorts rocking Rolex, AP, Patek, etc. in fear city, without incident – myself included. That said, it's not worth wearing something that makes you fret. I avoid wearing watches in SFO / LAX with that logic .

If it makes a diff - I wore a white gold Daytona all over Manhattan yesterday and my buddy had a sea dweller on - no issues at all

That said this was the first time in maybe 3 years I was willing to try that with short sleeves - so what I’m saying is the city has def improved but you never known i guess

I live in Brooklyn and heard at least 4 stories in the last 6 months of Rollies, AP, Pateks robbed at gunpoint

Guess gotta wear everything but those 3 hahah
