Blue Sky-Dweller or Sprite LHD GMT?

Purely playing hypothetically here but between these 2 what would you choose?

No contest. Skydweller by a mile. I think the red and blue as well as the blue and black gmt are both nicer as well.

The SkyD is an impressive watch and something that’s very different from everything else in my watch box. But it’s also a bit chunky and flashy; as much as I love it conceptually, it’s hard to picture when i would actually wear it. The GMT, on the other hand, is a form factor that is easy to daily — sporty, dressy, classy. I’d go GMT for practical reasons alone.

SkyD has such cool complications but it’s just a bit too big and thick for my wrist, so I’d take the VTNR.

If I had beefier wrists, I would take the SkyD

For anyone that cares, 6.75 inches flat. My wrist.

I'd love to see the new SS green Skyd but I already know it's gonna be too big for my wrist. So I am going with lefty GMT on Oyster here.

I find the Sprite completely captivating, so easy choice.

VTNR - quirky, different and a GMT

The SkyD is big. It’s wide on the wrist and has significant wrist presence. The fluted bezel really makes it stand out. It’s also on the thicker side. But it’s functional and unique.

The VTNR has a great color combination. Wears comfortably - not too tall, not too wide. But, the configuration is arresting to the eye looking for a traditional date placement. I couldn’t get used to it. It always looked a bit of a Quasimodo to me.

But between the 2, I’d say the only reasonable answer is both. Slight edge to the VTNR for comfort. But maybe slighter edge to the SkyD for utility.

I get a headache every time I see that particular GMT. Also I love the blue SkD, actually wearing one as I type this

I’ve got both and can’t answer. So, get one and then get the other.

Lol... I get crosseyed too! I used to feel the same but voted Sprite on this one.

I find the SkyD dial to be a bit too busy. I may be the only one here.

Is it true the blue SkyD is the most difficult piece to attain at AD nowadays next to the Daytona?

Honestly, either. The blue SkyD is on my short list with my AD. However, as a left handed right wrister, I'm really attracted to the VTNR. Tough choice, but if I was forced to take only one, SkyD.

Well for the most complicated watch they make it’s actually quite impressive how little is going on on that dial. But then again, I do tend to like busier dials.

That's a tough call. I guess it depends which watches I already have in collection.

Very good point. It's just I have a DJ41 fluted with blue dial. I'm just used to seeing a plain jain bright blue dial.

That’s understandable, that DJ is one of the prettiest watches Rolex makes IMO

I would compare the SkD more to a 5326 that has the same functionality but is much more of a mess visually, though in person it’s a very beautifully made thing

Both are great watches but the SkyD is so much more refined and classic. The VTNR if it wasn't backwards would be a closer call but the SkyD feels far superior on the wrist and the complication is a pleasure to adjust.

I'm a lefty, so the Sprite is def a watch I'd love to own, but out of these two, the SD is the watch that I long to own.

The VTNR is the wrong way up, although I'd take a BLRO over a right way up VTNR.

Nice problem to have. No wrong answer.

A rather acidic soft drink that is good at cleaning teeth if you're out and about and don't have your toothbrush.

I’m a big SKYD fan and a bigger fan of the blue SKYD. It’s size and height are never problematic for me (though I also love wearing my Platona, which makes the SKYD a lightweight). I think the Sprite is fun. But I’d take the SKYD over it any day if I had to make the choice. With others I ask, why not both?

Sky-Dweller! Isn't a question I even had to ponder for one second. Left handed watch will never appeal to me.

If your not left handed and don't plan on just putting a watch in the safe I don't understand buying the Sprite

With that said would you suggest a 41mm datejust or a 36 over the Sky d due to size thanks

I own all three SS Sky-Dwellers and think they are great watches. I am looking forward to seeing the Green Dial Sky-Dweller and possibly adding it to the collection. I was on the fence last week on a purchase of a VTNR on Jubilee. I liked the watch and think it would fit nicely with my BLRO and BLNR but just could not do it. Don't know why. I ended up buying a YG Submariner 116618LN. I might circle back around but will probably be looking for the new YG GMT on Jubilee, Green Sky-Dweller or the Titanium Yacht-Master as a next watch. But you never know.
